Hehe, the Indiana state laws contain the word "booby."

Anyway, that's probably your answer there. Consult with your state's laws first - it might be specifically illegal. Check for legal precedents next - there might be a body of case law establishing liability for such actions. Third, consult a lawyer and perhaps put one on retainer in case you get sued. Or fourth, just get comprehensive insurance coverage, so if your bike gets stolen you can simply get another one.

That was kind of weak, but you get an A for effort.

Hypothetical of course.

^^^ Picture comes to mind of a spark plug sticking out of the top of the tank with the lead running under the seat! Maybe a warning sticker next to the spark plug: Warning: Motion detector sends power to sparkplug!

That's the best answer.

One of the best theft deterents I've seen. I was at Cannery Row and went over to look at a custom chopper that was parked on the street. Amazing bike, probably worth 70k or something and just sitting there. As I got closer I laughed. On the seat was a single 50 cal round. It sent a message loud and clear what would happen if anyone was caught touching the bike.
