You can get sued for anything. Only problem is, you have to show INTENT that they wanted to deprive you of your property. If someone breaks into a house to gain shelter from harsh weather and they dont steal anything, thats merely criminal mischief and violation of private property, not breaking and entering and some would think.

Have to read up on the law to know the law, or it will be used against you. But best thing is-dead men cant testify.

At the restaurant I worked in high school, we had a problem of people leaving their purses in plain view in their car while eating, and the window getting busted out and the purse stolen. My bosses wife wanted to get a poisonous snake and put it in a purse in the front seat of a car. Let them steal that purse and reach in. My boss wouldn't let her.

I don't care if a kid hopped on the bike. His parents are his legal gaurdians and should be held liable for letting the brat touch someone elses property. Just like people getting hurt tresspassing on your property you'll get sued and lose anyway. I had a buddy losen a fuel hose when a cop rode his bike away 2 impound it because his inspection was expired(They are suppose to get it towed if they are gonna impound, but they basically told him we I ride it or you go to jail, and get some fun little tickets that we can come up with). No fire, but cop wound up having 2 get bike towed ans then explain how a perfectly working bike wasn't running.

I hate thieves too,but think about this.
Some Dude a few years ago kept getting his shed/garage broke into so he rigged up a shotgun/ booby trap.

It goes down hill from there...... Lets just say he no longer has a daughter anymore(I believe she was about eight years old at the time). How would you like to live with THAT for the rest of your life. If that wasn't punishment enough for a fathers stupidity how about spending YEARS in a state prison to think about it.

How silly of you.
Depends on how bad you've let your politicians castrate you. In Texas, it's perfectly legal to use lethal force after dark if someone tries to gain entry to your house or vehicle..

It's the same here in Indiana, but you must do it in a lawful manner.

Booby traps are NOT lawful and they do not discriminate between who's the good guy and who's the bad guy.

Indiana Code
IC 35-47.5-5-10
Deploying a booby trap
Sec. 10. A person who knowingly or intentionally deploys a booby trap commits a Class D felony.
As added by P.L.123-2002, SEC.50.

Yup, as of like 5 months ago. Before that, it was actually against the law to use self defense or try to rotect your family or property.

No joke, it was literally specifically stated in the books that you, in no way, could defend yourself, property, family, nothing. You had to "remove yourself" from the situation and call police.

They put those laws in at the age of the great Texas prison boom. Thats also when all the mandatory minimum sentence laws for BS stuff were passed at a time when Wackenhut was lobbying hard for these laws to fill their prisons.

Anyway, now if you catch a fucker trying to steal your car and you beat him down, its perfectly legal. Cant wait til some dick tries to pull some shit on me.

i can see why you aren't allowed to "protect your own property" cause innocent people may get hurt

but thieves suing car/bike owners? that's just bullshit. i'm becoming a lawyer to fix bullshit like this in law

I had a talk with an ex marine friend of mine (he is more like a brother than a friend) about taking life when necessary. Here are his thoughts (paraphrased):

"I used to think that it would be cool to be bad ass and go kill some people that needed it. That was until I had to take a life. It isn't easy, and it isn't something that you just do and then it's over. You take it with you."

I have never killed another human. If I had to do so to defend myself, my family, or someone else who was not capable of defending themselves, then I would. And I would do the same to protect my property, within the law. It is a decision that I made when I chose to accept the awesome responsibility that comes with carrying a fire arm about 8 years ago. After talking to my friend about the topic recently, even more so than before, I hope to God that I never got the chance to use my gun on someone else. If the statement that I quoted really represents your true feeling, and you can't wait until you are given the chance to take a life, then you might should think twice about being armed.

Sorry it I came off as attacking you, that was not my intent. Just giving my $.02, fwiw.

Use treble hooks... nobody will bleed to death but it would be a bitch to pull 'em out!
A friend of mine was going to put them behind his stereo speakers in his car after it got broken into twice. I thought it a grand idea!
Maybe you could put them under the seat or somewhere where they would grab it to lift it into a truck?

I would rig a small denonation device in the motorcycle that I could activate by switch...hopefully while they are riding. Then when it blows up, Ill tell police that the bike had catastrphic failure cause it wasen't running well and I wasent expecting anyone to ride it.

Hypothetical of course.
