American Nicky Hayden Repsol Honda topped the times sheet at the end of day one of the three-day IRTA MotoGP test at Jerez today. In cool 18-degree temperatures and windy conditions Hayden, from Owensboro, Kentucky, put in an amazing 107 laps of the 4.423 km Spanish circuit.
Nicky's once again proving to be the real workhorse of MotoGP....

He didn't win the championship, but he did finish 2nd, scoring roughly double the points that Hayden did back in 8th. I don't think it's even debatable that Pedro is on an entirely different level than Hayden. Nicky is just another mid-packer in MotoGP. There are many better riders on the grid.
