So, I finally purchased my first bike earlier this week. I picked up a 2000 Yamaha R6 with a little over 17,000 miles for $3800. I was shocked at how nice the bike was for the price. I had it looked over at my local bike dealership and even they said I got a pretty damn good deal.
I took the MSF class about a year and a half ago, and I've been riding a few frat brothers' and friends' bikes (500s and 600s mostly) off and on since then. I'm sure I don't have enough experience in you guys' eyes to be riding a 600, but hey...what can you do.
But back to the story...I picked it up Wednesday and it stayed on the back of my truck until Friday. Getting it registered, switching the title, and getting insurance can be a pain in the arse. I ordered my helmet Thursday and it came in Friday. I bought the AFX FX-30. I haven't really seen anybody talk about it on here, but the reviews were pretty good and it was a descent price (about $100). Next I went and got my jacket (Joe Rocket Phoenix 4.0 $135) and gloves (Joe Rocket Stage 1 Glove $27.00). Shit started getting expensive after tag registration, insurance, bike cover, and gear, but it is well worth it.
So after I finally get everything I need, I get one of my neighbors and a couple of my frat brothers to help me take the bike off the truck. My neighbor's crazy ass tries to convince me to roll the bike down some extremely thin rotted piece of wood he pulled off some garden in front of my apartment complex! After I had told him there is NO way that was happening, we lifted the bike off the truck successfully. By the time I got the bike off the truck, it was time for me to go to work, so I couldn't even go ride and it was a pretty nice day outside

.
Finally, I got off work and decided even though I've never ridden on the streets at night, I'd take her for a spin anyway. It was a little cold, but I loved it. Hopefully, I can get some riding in tomorrow before the Superbowl.
