i have been riding (two stroker) for 8 years my first bike where an Cagiva Freccia (125cc) after that i hade an Aprilia RS 250 my last bike where an Yamaha RZ/RD500 but I hade to sell it when i moved with my wife from Europe to California ,
as you know two-stroker are a no no here so i have been looking around for a new sport bike ,i saw an Ducati 999R for sale and i love it,
Buy I don’t know if I am asking for trouble i know there is an huge different between a two stroker sport bike and an four stroker, but still i want it really bad ,
So what should i do should i get the Ducati
Ps English isn’t my first language so don’t be too hard on me for spelling bad sometimes
What year is the Ducati? I really don't know much about two strokes cause I have only ridden street here in the states. I am sure someone will post up and give you their opinion but with you riding for 8 years it would probably be ok.
The 999 will be a big power hike for you. But you have been riding a while and should be fine if you spend the time learning how to ride it. Does the 999R come at a good price? They were very expensive when new, but are fantastic very high spec bikes. You running costs will also be well above normal. Just something to keep in mind.
its an 2003 Ducati 999R don’t know the price yet it’s a friends bike but i am sure gone be expensive, i gone take it for a test raid next week,
I am just afraid that the high revving 2-stroker devil inside of me don’t wake up during the test ride
im sure you'll be alright if you've ridden long enough

Sportbike: What's not to like about Naked Twins?
^+1 'specially a liter-twin
crank on that thing at low revs and it'll try to rip your arms out of their sockets

You should be fine on the Duc. Good power and broad torque spread, unless you find yourself really missing the RPM motor.
If so you could consider any of the current 600's. They all make plenty of power and rev to the moon, they just don't have that 2 stroke hit.
Which in my opinion makes them easier to ride.
The bike where stock I didn’t have allot of cash at that time. If I needed parts I did go to the junk yard I gone miss driving 2-stroker .I fell a bit sad of the new generation biker that never have seen or driven a 2-stroker sport bike , I especially gone miss the 2-stroker smell and noise,
You should have no problems with the Duke you have in mind other then lots of power & lovely torque. Torque was something we did not have with two-strokes, but I rode & raced them for many yrs along with 4-strokes & now the latter have taken over.
