Question Another tire choice thread...YAY!

I'm only picking your brains and experience for one tire; I've already chosen the Maxxis Promaxx as my front tire because it's a great price and I've been told a pretty good road tire for the cost and what I want. (I'm not on a trackworthy bike *cough*)

For the rear tire though, I know that it will wear out quicker than my front tire from acceleration, and braking, etc.... So, I heard there was a tire that incorporated a 'touring' oriented center cap, with a stickier compound on the side of the tire for those days where I need to lean the stress from work away

The problem is, going through several tire distributors (online) I didn't see any tire with this reference... did I imagine this tire up?

i'm running pirelli diablo stradas ... i've got 6500 miles on them, including canyon riding and two track days. the center still has plenty of life left (i think) but the last time i went riding on them, i could feel they weren't griping like they used to. they've been awesome tires.

Well, the issue is, as you can see, my bike is more of a commuting vehicle than recreational. My front tire is a cheap (24$ heh) dual sport Kenda, and the rear is a Dunlop D404 that is 50% life left but is severaly flattened in the middle from more straightaways than corners, hence the reason I want the firmer midsection.

Yup, that Pilot power 2 was the type of tire I was aiming for...a tad heavy price tag though... NM: I found them with a more touring oriented design but still sticky for cheaper, the Pilot Road 2CT. Sweet!

Oh, if anyone is scratching your heads at my switch from Dual purpose to sport tires, I am custom making a rear shock and going all road with this bike. A classic SM if you will

The Pilot Road 2CT is the one I recommeded above. Commonly called the PR2.

Alright, so the Pilot Powers don't come in 120/90-18 Not much does actually.

So I think I'm going to get the Pirelli Sport Demons for the rear (100$) and then the Promaxx for the front (85$)... we'll see how that combo works

Demons:

Promaxxs:

I figure they look similar enought o not look weird when I'm not going forward
