If you drive a machine that is capable of 150+ miles an hour on public roads you are going to get attention whether you want it or not.

I agree that you MAY draw more attention. But I've owned a lot of fast project cars..and I hardly ever got pulled...now I had plenty of officers pull up beside me to ask "What year? What's in it? etc etc"..
But yeah I see what you're saying, but I'll still stick with the fact, NO MATTER WHAT YOU'RE driving, if you're not breaking the law, you have nothing to worry with.
And it depends on the area as well, and what has went on. Think about it this way...
Let's say you are a LEO. And you get calls on sportbike riders that are causing trouble. How many people who call in, much less officers who don't ride, can tell the difference between different motorcycles? What about checking license plates? What's fair game and what isn't?
It's simply taking responsibility for your actions.
If you want to drive 70 in a 55, no matter what you're driving, you should be prepared to deal with the consequences when / if you get pulled over.
I'll never forget getting pulled over several years ago. I was doing 14 over the speed limit. It was Friday, I was on my way home from out of town, and just wanted to get home. State trooper nailed me.
He gave me a ticket. I forgot to send in the fine, so I showed up in court.
Judge asked me what was my excuse. I told him straight up I wanted to get home, and I was guilty of speeding...4 or 14 over, it's still speeding.
He gave me driving school and the ticket went away after completion ( I did have a totally clean record).
Sure..I got lucky. But I watched several people after me get stuck with full tickets and fines, because all of 'em had an excuse.
