Default Just installed 06+ stubby GYTR exhaust on 03 R6

And all I have to say is "WOW!". Best mod Ive done yet (next to the 520 -1/+2 thats about to go on). I am not one that likes too attract too much attention, and I'm not one to ride something obnoxious, meaning, I was scared that it was going to be too loud. After I took off the scorpion can and fired up the bike with no exhaust, I was sure it was going to be way too loud for my liking. "How can this tiny ass can provide any muffling effect?", I asked myself. Not to mention, the noise that comes out of a bike w/o exhaust is just hands down horrible and rough sounding.

I was mistaken, its definitely not too loud, and to be quite honest, I feel its 100% perfect to my likings. Aftermarket company's should have offered something like this from the get go, imo. Don't get me wrong, its quite a bit louder than the 98db scorpion exhaust I originally had, but its far from obnoxious. Has a very deep rumble at idle and just screams like a GP bike at 9k. Not too raspy, but doesnt quite have that 'tuned' sound of a 'regular' aftermarket exhaust, such as the scorpion.

All I had to do to make this exhaust fit was take it to an exhaust shop and have them stretch the inlet of the can a tad. He actually stretched it a bit too much, but its nothing the stock clamp didnt fix once I got to wrenching it back on. It took the guy at the exhaust shop maybe 5 minutes to do. I asked him what I owed, and he replied with 'eh, whatever you wanna spare'. He probably would have been happy with a pack of smokes or a can of dip, so I just gave him a $20 and called it good. I was happy, especially since the previous shop I visited told me it would be impossible, as the can would crack if he tried to stretch it any. Personally, I just think he didnt want to bother with me.

These are the best pics I have, I'll try to get some better ones when there is more light if any of you want em.

EDIT - Sound/video clip:
As always, soundclips never really reflect what something really sounds like. It definitely sounds better in person.

thanks for the compliments!

Cops around here just simply dont give motorcyclists a hard time. Most cops in this city ride as well, so unless you're being a complete dick, they tend to just look the other way. It actually ended up like that on accident, lol. I was riding in a bike rally with my ol' lady's helmet strapped to the seat and it apparently lossened a bit and started rubbing the tire, which pushed it up into the plate. *dumbass* I just havent returned it back to position since then. It does, however, bend back to position easily if I ever did have a problem.

Thumbs up

I don't usually reply to these type of threads cos they're usually willy waving ' my bike is faster because I have this obnoxiously loud exhaust on it' etc etc.

..but I like the look of that, looks really good , and it's refreshing that you didn't just want the loudest.

the bikes cool as well, an 2003 r6 is a much better road bike than an 2006 or 2007 r6 ... much less peaky and more 'real road drivability'.

nice one.

I explained it in the post above.

I asked a close cop buddy of mine about the fine associated with such a display, needless to say, its positioned correctly now.
