Default r6 raven

Hey everyone,
Just had a few questions regarding an r6.

1. What makes an r6 and an r6 raven edition different?

2. Why do some r6's have regular looking headlights, and why do some of them have projector lenses. For those of you that don't know, projector lenses are the lenses that look like fisheyes.

3. I'm looking for an r6 in gloss/flat black with the projector style headlights, and the red stripe on the rims. Is what I'm looking for considered a raven? Or can I get a regular r6 that has all of those options?

Thanks for everything,
Zach

Yea the all black is the Raven. Its not a special edition its just what they call the all black ones. I had an 08 R6S Raven.... there were only 2 colors made Blue and Raven.

Couldnt tell you about the headlights though.

ok, maybe it is because I am fairly new to this scene, but what is a squid?

secondly, I'm still looking for an answer on the headlights.

thirdly, what are some of these problems with the ravens that you are talking about?

Thanks to all that have replied so far!

Do you currently have an F4i?

Raven is the official name used by Yamaha for the black color scheme on the R6 and R1. Those must have wey kewl projector lights were introduced in '03... Those before that model had standard old skool lights.

Raven's are said to be cursed because so many squids just had to have them before they knew anything about riding a motorcycle, and quickly managed to wrap them around fixed objects.

Apologies to those that are the exception to the rule... like me riding 'gixxers' and not being a squid.

1. That urban dictionary definition is pretty much spot on.

2. The raven has a bad image because of kids/men described in that definition. all black is the badass looking one... so badass wannabes buy em a lot.

03-05 R6 has the projectors, as well as the 06-08 R6S......

as stated, raven is just the color scheme....nothing more.

You are probably talking about 2 completely different bikes. Yamaha currently offers the R6-S which is basically the same bike as the 03-05. They also offer an entirely new design for 06+. The 06+ model looks completely different and has a short stubby exhaust, vs the large side can like the R6s. The R6s has projectors, the 06+ R6r does not.

Thanks for all the replies people.

The question was asked, and YES I do currently have an 4FI. I'm in the process of trying to upgrade, preferably to an R6.

Until then, I still ride my 4FI and I plan on selling it before I get my R6. I just am currently not trying to sell my F4I very hard.

Thanks

I must disagree. Blue is clearly the bad ass looking one. Black is boring and plain, gets old after a couple days.

hahah, that may be your personal opinion.... on a more general basis i think people would associate a black vehicle as being more "badass"
