Default Beware Mototeck

So I’m looking for an undertail for my ZZR600. None of the retailers seemed to have one in stock so I called Mototeck directly. I inquired by phone quite clearly as to whether or not they had one for my bike, in black, ready to ship. Their response was in the affirmative so I ordered one.

A week goes by and I’m getting a little curious as to where my part is so I call again. Now I’m told that it’s at the paint shop and will be back “in a week or so”. Quite naturally, I tell them to cancel the order. Then they tell me (I’m not making this up) that there will be a “20% cancellation fee”. Well, that’s for damned sure not gonna happen. I’ve already cut them off at the credit card company. Parenthetically, the dirty little bastards had already charged my card even though the product had not shipped; a definite no-no.

My advice to you is that if you want a Mototeck product, stick with one of the reputable suppliers on this board so that you won’t be exposed to those bottom-feeding, little shit-licks who think that they’re entitled to something for nothing.

Sorry for the rant but I’ve no patience whatsoever with filthy little creeps who want something for nothing. In my view, there is no moral distinction between them and the guy trying to steal your bike.

Cordially yours,

AK

Sucks when you have to deal w/ people like this.

I had a similar experience recently w/ another "business." Ordered a part they told me they had. Called a week later to find out they were still finishing the part, said it would take another week. Called the next week to get the same story.

Checked out my credit card transaction activity to find they charged my card the full amount (rather then just getting an auth for the funds) on the day I called (yes, they're not supposed to do this until product has shipped).

They credited my card w/o hesitation so I left the issue alone. Seems our motorcycle brethren lack basic business acumen (reading their merchant agreements) and providing good customer service (i.e. not lieing).

I'm surprised, the first bad thing I've heard about Mototek.
They are pretty popular with the "tasty-leftover" bikes. I know the yzf board supports them... Odd.
