make sure you keep us updated! I was on the edge of my seat!!! If my bike got stolen and I saw someone else riding it days later, I don't know what I'd do! probably the same thing you are doing. also try to pick out some "certain" things that would tell you it's your bike- like exaust type, a scrape/scuff in a certain area, something specific. good luck man!!

The only identifying marks my bike had were a silver stator cover (stock is black) and I scraped the tail from going 12 'o clock on accident. But as far as my dad could tell (he probably didn't know what to look for anyway) there was no damage to the tail. But the guy that told me about this bike said the stator cover was silver at one point, and now it's black.

Nothing new on my own bike. But just wanted to note that one of my friend's just had his 2002 ZX6R stolen three days ago. It was a piece of shit anyway after my friend tore it up to hell, but still. Thieves suck.

It's possible to have two registrations on one plate. When you purchase a used vehicle and the paperwork is submitted to put the tags in your name, there will be two registrations that will appear. The top one is the previous owner and the second one is you. It'll stay that way for a week or two until all the paperwork is processed transfering the title into your name. Then they drop the top registration off and then it's only your information. It's not uncommon or even slightly unusual.

Yeah I've thought about just bringing it in the house every night. Don't know how that'd go across the parents though. But hopefully we shouldn't need to bring it in the house. We're getting a 10' metal gate installed soon with an automatic gate door with an access code. Along with 4 security cameras. And a sign that says, "Prosecuters Will Be Shot In The Ass...Seriously." Good bye old "safety net", hello James Bond!

wickedninja:
And yeah, I'm gonna try to get this R1 up in Washington, DC next week. If not, I may get this other one from a guy on here.

This is like a court show were all waiting to see the out come. I wish you the best of luck and I think the sign should read VIOLATORS WILL BE SHOT SURVIVORS WILL BE SHOT AGAIN

The sign should read, "DONT RUN YOU'LL ONLY DIE TIRED". I read that in the "who's in the military" thread. It belongs to someone's signature who is/was a sniper.

Twin I have done some stuff like you are doing now for a bail bondsmen and all I can say is be very careful if this guy is stupid enough to ride a stolen bike around like that then he may be willing to do other things to not be caught. If you do approach this fella do not do it alone .....have at least one other person with you and the police would be even better.
One other suggestion is to catch him at home and not on the bike, if he tries to run he will probably crash and burn.

Yeah of course I'll have support. Hell at a minimum, I've got a bunch of biker buddies that would love to tear the guy a new asshole for stealing one of their "brother's" shit. Then my dad is gonna be a cop soon. So...I really do hope it's my bike, cause I want to see that guy go down. Also when I went to see Bourne Supremecy (terrible in my opinion, btw) I chased an '04 1000 that looked just like mine on the highway all the way to the place I was goin to meet my date/friends. Jotted the tag down for future investigation. But he wasn't trying to get away from me though so he's probably good, but of course, ya never know around here.

Try camping out and waiting for him to ride it somewhere. Then follow him to where ever he is going and when he leaves it just load it up in a pickup truck.
