Lightbulb mmmm...

You're all right and you're all wrong! I respect what the truth is on riding and any other sport for that matter. There will always be the mutant freaks who can giv'ver 100% from ground zero. They exist in any sport. There are then the rest of us mortals... we learn better taking small steps, ie/ smaller cc motors = less likelyhood of injury or death. There are also those who should never, ever get on a bike. You need to shut yourself away from your friends and ego and ask yourself which one of these you honestly are. Then hope ya haven't lied to yourself cuz the future will level that one all on it's own. Peace all. Never to offend, but to implore objectivity!
Cheers

THIS THREAD IS ALMOST THREE YEARS OLD.

Jesus, check the fucking date before you resurrect a thread that should have been left for dead.

There's hundreds more on this topic that are equally pointless debates.

Starting on a modern 600 sport bike is like starting with two strikes against you.

Fast will not seem fast, because you have no reference point. That is, until you crash at 100+ mph, then your internal speedometer will be recalibrated.

While your are learning everything else you will also have to deal with a lot of power that can easily get you in way over your head. What would be a mild scare on gs500 could easily be a disaster on an F4i. The effects of mistakes will be magnified.

Of course you gotta do what you gotta do. I coudln't afford a bike when I started, so I learned on a borrowed one that was not appropriate. It's hard to be satisfied with a small bike once you've driven a more powerful one. Just realize you are putting yourself at a disadvantage.

Am I supposed to list my mods here?
...No, I won't - that's dumb.
