FYI for everyone, just put that thing on barely stug. Oil pressure isn't that much, the filter ring will expand, and leaks will not happen until you untighten.

I usually resort to super-sized channel lock pliers in those types of situations.

You sound like you know what your doing. How much oil pressure would you expect to see at say 7k'?

Thanks!

Maybe it was the one I had, but it kept slipping. I think I still have that POS around somewhere.

I'd get the socket and a socket wrench then use a breaker bar (I use a fence post, its hollow and pinched on one end and fits around the handle of a socket wrench) the breaker bar gives you a lot of leverage and usually gets the job done.

I tried one of these and it wouldn't tighten down enough to break it loose.

Yeah, i have one of those that has a hole for a 1/2" drive rachet instead of a handle.

Same thing... it only works on certain size filters, and if there's too much oil on the outside, it loses grip.

The nylon strap ones have NEVER failed me. EVER.

And i never use a wrench to get a filter on. Never had one fall off in over 200,000 miles of driving.

I have used the nylon ones before without any issues. That rubber one with the metal band sucked ass! I have always hand turned mine when putting them on and haven't lost one yet either. I hand tightened the K&N this weekend and in the 3 races it didn't budge.

Thats weird how that didnt work for ya.. Mine has worked on my cars, my bike, my dad's boulevard. No slippage, All you gotta do is position it right and turn it right(not directionally).. Tightens right up on the filter
