When I was looking at getting my first bike I only knew of Suzuki, and Kawasaki. I remember the Ninja from Road Rash. It's just a squid attraction. Hell, the only reason I didn't get it, (I'm a huge squid), is because my friend told me not to.
I agree, I think Suzuki is still not getting something right with the frames. I would think that even with hitting a wall, it wouldn't break right down the center of the weld like that.
I just don't get it. How fuckin stupid can you be. I've got ~2600 miles and a year in and never came close to doing something like that. Yup, still a newb.
Sidenote: Two guys I know started on R1's. One '05, one '07 neither with MSF.

Im with Freeky on this, that weld WTF, split down the middle of a robot weld on a cast frame? Weird, but no I dont blame a GSXR1000K7 for splitting in half when no skills noob power launches into a concrete wall.
I too want to see the pic of his face when they told him he owed $12,000 bucks for the bike and $30 a day storage starting now. Priceless...
How is it possible that he did not have insurance.
Especially if he's financing a bike? Lienholders are usually strict about getting insurance before handing over the keys.
I bought 2 new cars and both times I had to sit there and wait for a confirmation fax from insurance company before they hand over the keys.
Can he blame it on the dealer and make them pay for the bike because they did not complete the paperwork (insurance) before delivering the bike?
