warning
I just wanted to give you all a warning about an E-bay merchant selling carbon fiber body paneling.
The merchant's name is under both carbonpperformance and or carbon-depot.
Here are some examples of what they sell. Item number: 260099093475
carbonperformance
Item number: 260099087834
I purchased some parts for my 02 R1, the parts did not fit (not even close) so I contacted the seller who assured me I would receive a full refund . To make a long story short once I sent the parts back to him, he would not return my e-mails. I contacted pay-pal who then put a un-resolved issue on his account, once pay pal did this, he returned my e-mail stating that there was some kind of mix up etc. and he was going to send a full refund to my pay-pal account, but he failed to follow through( In essence he has stolen from me). Pay Pal can only go into the seller account and freeze it for up to 45 days after payment has been sent, in my case I was over the 45 days so they could only flag his account with an un-resolved issue.
TIPS
1) This merchant has a lot of what looks like nice merchandise, but looks are deceiving.
2) I was reluctant to raise an official dispute because e-bay and pay pal advocate communication and resolution between buyer and seller outside the official pay-pal dispute process. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME ERROR you have only 45 days to raise a dispute once payment is made, after 45 days your out of luck sucker. Trust me, a seller can be late on shipping the package, you may not be-able (as was my case) to install the part right away (work etc.)
Then once you contact the seller, he will be very convincing, when he states that a full refund will be given, then only after you ship the package back, and wait for a response (you never get one) do you finally realise "I just got ripped off". My fault I admit.
If you ordered something through e-bay and it's really late or it's not as described, or whatever, raise a dispute right away (or contact you credit card company) you must do this in order to protect yourself, do not believe the seller at this point in time, he has your money, once you have received your refund then cancel the dispute or complaint, but not until the money is sitting in your account.
