My point exactaly, most bikes are ruined for other reasons besides oil failure. I happen to use synthetic but primarily for the extended drain intervals that it gives. I have pulled apart several motors and do understand, but I'm just saying that engine damage is not that common in our bikes considering how they are used, and abused. I think its more of a testament of the engineers design of the engines more than the oil we use in them. I've seen bikes go 70-80k only using conventional oil. On the other hand, I've seen bikes with 10k spin bearings and throw rods with synthetic in the crankcase. I do see your point though.
