I got this bike about 3 weeks ago. It was a combination

and Christmas present. It's a 2001 Aprilia RSV Mille R. 10K miles, mostly stock except for a slip on titanium Akra, derestricted intake, CA smog delete and cut ECU wire.
The performance is everything I'd imagined it to be. Coming from a 600cc Yamaha I-4, this engine has got a lot more grunt. Redline is lower but the power and torque comes on HARD from 4k and up. Riding on the street in 1st-4th gear, gobs of torque are always right on tap. The first few times I opened the throttle fully I was startled by how easily the front end lifts up.
This is the upgraded model with carbon fiber trim, full Öhlins suspension, and anodized light weight O.Z. wheels. The dash is LCD with all sorts of functions and an analog RPM gage. The gas tank is beautifully curved allowing me to really grip it tight with my legs on the curves.
When I first sat on it, I thought the seat was really high and the bars sort of too low, but I've since become used to it. I still need to sort the suspension. I've got it about halfway between the factory recommended street and racetrack settings and it feels good but I'm sure I can get it tweaked better.
I haven't been riding her hard yet, but I know this bike will last a long time. My first sportbike was a YZF-600. After about 20k miles I felt like I had finally outgrown it and wanted something more extreme but it was stolen and I haven't had a motorcycle in a while. I'm starting over again with the Aprilia, but I think by this summer my riding skills will be back to where they were on the Yamaha. And after that, I believe this bike will only get better.
Sorry for the crappy pics. I keep her inside and it was raining today.
