My experience (from smoking and driving one time) says that it shouldnt be done unless it has to be. When you smoke (like when the high is wearing off like it was for me) you are super paranoid and observant. I noticed I was constantly doing 5 under the speed limit, and when there was a stop sign, I stopped completely and looked both ways before proceeding. I used all my signals and drove like a friggin grandma. Under normal conditions, I would have driven 10 over and would have slowed (not fully stopping) at the sign and would have only glanced both directions.

I wouldn't say that it slows down your reaction time, but the reaction you get may not always be the one you want. I'd say when you smoke and drive, your risk factor is probably the same as a 70 year old drivers. Same reaction time, same cautiousness, same state of mind (hey, old people are on some kind of drugs all the time too )

I would definitely not smoke and ride though, the complexities of riding a motorcycle would definitely push you over the edge. I have a hard enough time getting off the couch when stoned, I couldnt imagine trying to balance the bike

I get really fucked up when I smoke... I smoke only a few times a year so I'm in a different world when I do. I've only smoked up and ridden once, and that was with a buddy on the back (we had to get the bike back to my place before going out). I had to gas up and I could barely figure out how to open the gas cap . Anyway, I wanted to see what 200 km/h (126 mph) feels like while stoned, at night, and wearing a t-shirt (and it was pretty cold out that night). I asked my buddy if he was okay with me taking it on the freeway and trying it and he said to go ahead. I got it up to 190-something and freaked out and slowed down... call me a pussy but I had to slow down, I got scared.

Why drink and drive when you can smoke and fly!

This has been my expirience as well, in a car that is.Also i dont want to be pulled over so i ride obeing all of the laws. I dont plan on riding a bike high for a LONG time and then it will be only if i have to.

There was a study done in Canada(im talking about cars here) which showed that people who had smoked marijuana drived normaly and theyre driving skills where not affected too much.they also drove much safer than drunks, and especially those with sleep deprivation which where the worst.

Hate me if you must but...

Smoking Weed + Anything = Stupid

Smoking Weed + Riding = You deserve the road rash, lets just hope you don't hurt someone else.

i would love to see some proof of this. i had to take an alcohol and drug class after getting a DWI. they said that LOTS of accidents are caused by blazing and driving. when you blaze there are too many things going on in your head, its hard to stay focused on one thing.

the thing is they cant catch people (and give them DWI's). yes you can get a DWI or DUI (in places other then new york) from driving blazed and it's actually harsher then getting a DWI from alcohol because driving drunk for the first time is a misdermeanor, driving blazed is a felony. the thing is it's really hard to prove somebody is blazed at that particuliar time.

i dont blaze much anymore, but when i do i would definitely not get on the back of a bike.

I have before and got lost on the bike because I kept on riding and had no idea where I was. So I don't ride and smoke anymore.

What a bunch of tight-asses. Over the years, I've done about everything while riding including polishing the knob.

Based on my experience, and even though no harm came of it, I don't really recommend any of it.

Riding is simply more fun when straight and focused. In case you're wondering, sex is better when not riding too.

this is outrageouse!!! Drunk driving a misdemeanor? Out here in cali there are some laws that are just f*cking ridiculouse, but the zero tolerance we have for drunk driving is something i agree with...i know people who have been killed by drunk drivers and i have friends who have served prison time for being the driver and haveing their passenger die from them being drunk and driving.
Every state should have mandatory jail time for drunk drivers!

As far as the dude who said i should start thinking for myself, and how old am i, look bro, i didnt come on here and start this discussion because i want to take up smokin and riding and want to get approval from others.....i started this discussion cuz i know people who function better while stoned and i saw my riding buddy get high while we were out riding. I know people who can drive better, work better, go to school better, while high.....it is NOT the same as drinking and driving as you claim. Two different chemicals which have two different affects on the brain. I personally am a paranoide retard while stoned and that is why i dont do it (often) whether im riding, driving, or anything else, and i wanted to hear what everyone else thought.

Oh and if you still want to know i am 26 years old been married for 5 years and have a 4 year old and a 2 year old so im not about to do something like ride a motorcycle while under the influence of anything that would alter my mental status, no matter how others say it does or does not affect them. Just curiouse and haveing a little discussion is all.
