Best 1000cc bike.

I've notice a lot of discussions rather it be on this website or other's regarding the new Honda CBR 1000RR and the GSXR 1000. Are these to bikes best of the best in the 1000cc class? I never really hear people talk much about the new Kawi 12R or the R1. Like I said just wondering.

I think the sportbike market place, especially the 600SS and literbike categories, is so competitive that all the offerings from the big four are pretty damn good. Perhaps 6 years ago, when the old zx9 weighed 465lbs wet and the cbr 900 "only" made about 120 rwhp, critics could point to the brand new R1 as the top dog but the competition has since moved on.

Honestly, I'm a street rider so I don't give much thought to the tenth of a second or so difference that may seperate brand X from brand Y in the quarter mile or at Willow Springs. My choice would be based on a more subjective criteria: price, styling, comfort and perhaps handling.

With that said, I like the R1 best. That undertail exhaust is just too sexy to pass up.

CBR gets talked about because it's a Honda, GSX-R because it is the most powerful this year. The 10R got all the hype last year.

If you are actually good enough to tell the difference between the top 5 liter bikes, you should be a pro rider. 99.9% of people that ride on the street can't tell the difference in handling, braking or even power...... the competition between the manufactures forces them all to produce top notch bikes. You have decide base on looks and which bike you feel is more comfortable.

Currently riding a '05 GSXR 1000 ~ Full Tit. Akrapovic, PowerCommander, Schnitz Racing Custom map = 166horse. Suspension by Thermosman Suspension ~ Ohlins internals on forks, Hyperco rear spring
Need a better riding position? Check out www.convertibars.com. They are great!
Past bikes: '82 Yamaha Maxim 750, '89 Kaw. ZX7, '94 Kaw. ZX9R, '01 Yamaha FZ1, 04 Kaw. EX-250 ~ over 18 years & 120,000miles of riding experience.

How dare you mention that 1000RR pig in the same thread with the great GSXR1000!

They're all great bikes.
The Kaw 12R hasn't been new for a few years.

Here, Ill give you a fast run down at a dealership aspect.

05 - Suzuki GSXR-1000 - New and a Hotty to some. Others may hate it.
05 - Yamaha YZF-R1 - Raven is the most wanted this year. However Yamaha is now limiting there production a lot. So most dealers are holding there prices.
05 - Honda CBR1000RR - Repsol Baby. Limited edition according to Honda. Looks cool.
05 - Kawasaki ZX10R - Welp. Been out for a year. Do people love it? I dont know. Its a rare bike on the streets here in chicago. And I havent seen prices hold much on them.

What I see mostly. R1's and Gixxer 1000's. Repsol's have been kind of slow. Who knows when Spring is here though.

Best 1000cc bike? TLR but I'm probably the only one that thinks so!

When your riding your living, everything else is just waiting.

Shoot informants not drugs.

If you can't ride it or F$%K It , it's not worth having!

999R - Supposed to be the best twin ever made. So hot makes you want to de-virginize the tailpipe.
