General SportbikesThis area is made for sportbikes in general. Posts that dont really belong anywhere else besides here. Questions can be answered and addressed to fully understand certain aspects. If your question is Manufacturer specific please post it there.
I like Cycle World just because once in a while they have a really cool article that's worth reading. Their shoot-outs and crap like that are usually just junk, they compare bikes that have no business being compared, or leave out bikes that should have been.
I'm not at all surprised no one mentioned "American Motorcyclist". If you really like to ride, maybe you should help support the sport in which you enjoy so much. Join AMA and you get many discounts like travel, hotels, vision, and even road side assistance. On top of that you get a monthly magazine which keeps you informed to the threats on motorcyclists.
Ok ok the road side assistance is actually an extra benifit you have to pay for and dose not come with just joining the AMA.

Dude,
Now here I am thinking that this would be my chance to get this magazine and then i see two dudes going at it. That is just filthy and wrong. may your days be filled with pot holes and speeding tickets!
That's the site for the UK mags sub service I'm using. The new TWO finally came in It seems the price went up (now $69) but it's still a savings for almost $40 from the newsstand price. And so far, they are as reliable as clockwork.
By the way, the mag doesn't come with the few freebies the UK guys get, but then it usually doesn't at the bookstore either.

I get ALL of the American ones, and I like Rider magazine more than any of the others. Rider doesn't cater particularly to sportbikes, but the articles are great and aren't biased, the ride reports are great, I just love everything about the magazine. For good sportbike coverage, just about any of the Brit magazines are good. I honestly don't give 2 shits about what the American sportbike magazines have to say in their tests, I think they sugarcoat everything too much. I want raw reviews that aren't influenced by advertising dollars.

LOL I couldn't have said it better. In the American rags, I just glance over the reviews for tech info and the photos. I actually read the full articles (when I'm interested in the bike) in the UK mags.

The only place I've found US subscriptions for any of the British mags is on Amazon, for almost double the price you will pay for them at Borders or Barnes and Noble.
for an easy to find mag, Id recommend Super Streetbike.. its all custom bikes and stunting, so you don't have to put up with all the indirect manufacturer promo's and stuff like that
SSB has gone too urban. I was hoping it would find itself in a different direction, but mostly it's now all about the bling - and the false claims from the owners, who all look like frickin' drug dealers. I still buy it for the stunt stuff and a few of the bikes, but I can see my interest in it dying off real soon. It's too bad, I was one of those that wrote in to Primedia to keep the mag going after its trial issue - and they even published my letter to the editor (nothin' but praise back then) in their second ish.
Just my not-quite-humble opinion.

The best mag that I have seen so far has been Road Racer X. The pictures are absolutely the best, they don't have any stupid bike comparos and they cover everyhting from dirt track to MotoGP. You should find the mag at any newstand.
