Default Carbon Exhaust question

So I got my used Two Brothers highmount exhaust today. It looks and sounds great, but it seems to have a yellowish tint to it. I wouldn't have even noticed except that it's darker where the "support band" is around the exhaust. I know that carbon has a way of fading if left in the sun, perhaps that is what happened. I worry that maybe it's an xmetal exhaust that is just barely starting to turn gold, but would it stay black underneath the support band thingamajig?

Yes, carbon can fade in the side and also from high heat. This is especially true on Litre V-Twins which have been known to destroy some carbon cans over time. I don't think it's that extreme in your case since it's from an F4i. It probably darker where the bracket is because the bracket either heated up to a very hot point or it was the only spot on the exhaust which was out of the sun. If there is no apparent performance or structure problems I wouldn't worry about it.

Classic sun damage, get used to it.

I've had two different carbon exhausts and they both faded but I would not worry about it.
