Does anybody have pictures or links of cracked chrome sportbike rims? I know there was somebody on this website, but can't find the pics.

7-10 lbs may not seem like alot, but when it's rotating mass it makes a big difference, why do you think so many people shell out big bucks for light weight drivetrain components for their "Sports cars"

do us a favor and weigh your wheels prior to chroming, and then weigh them again after chroming. im tired of hearing these dudes claim it puts 10lbs on each wheel, and it'll be lik your bike is losing hp....give me a break

you're not losing horsepower... but less horsepower is makin it to the ground... more unsprung weight = more power required to turn it = less power propelling the bike

plus more rotating mass = more mass to slow down, will eat up your brakes and change handling maybe not noticable but definitly change

99.9% of the people on this board are NOT going to notice a performance/handling difference between chrome and stock wheels. If you can, let me be the first to bow down before you as you take your place on the podium!
I don't remember pulling my chrome wheels out of the box and saying, "Geez, these things are heavy." I don't remember having any performance or handling issues after installing them either.
As far as the maintainance goes that's pretty simple too. A little windex on a clean cloth will take the brake dust and dirt right away.
In my opinion, chrome wheels are more of a personal preference than a performance issue on your street driven sportbike.
