Default Will "Off Brand" Bike makers build/sell sportbikes in the U.S.

I'm just throwing this out for discussion and I would like to here from the
sportbike owners/crowd.
It seems in my area at least that "off brand" bikes and dealers are everywhere. Heck, even the local PEP BOYS has got in on the act !

Now,by "off brand" I mean the new wave of foreign bikes/quads such as
E-ton,Kymco,Kazuma,Redcat,etc. Where they are made THEY may be "The Brand".
Do you think these and or other companies will begin to produce larger, better, more powerful sportbikes for the North American and European markets? If so,I wonder what effects that would have on the sportbike scene?
Remember, not TOO long after the slogan "You meet the nicest people on a Honda" Honda caught the world on fire(and asleep) with the CB 750 and never looked back !
Without those little Honda stepthroughs(and the cash flow they generated)we may not have the wonderful and extremely capable sportbikes we have today.

There is a dealer (M&M Motorsports) in my hometown of Blue Springs who has been in business for at least 3 years, if not 5, and he sells those off-brands. Has done very well for himself, and there's a reason for it; he's got a 400 four-stroker naked sportbike for less than 2500 new. Three months ago he was expecting to have a 1000 twin of the same brand for about 4400.00. I was told warranties come with the bikes and he has excellent parts support from his suppliers. I believe he has a website, but I couldn't find it again to post the link. Hope I answered your question -

Drifter,
If you could find a site please post as these bikes sound awesome !
I would really like to find a good lightweight single/twin cylinder 4-stroke Motorad style bike as a second bike(actually 4th). Suzuki is comming out with a 05' 400cc Motorad bike w/17" whls based off the DRZ-400 and I think it looks very cool in black. As long as the power to weight is good I would be VERY interested in this style of bike ! The only sore spot is the price. Not the price of the upgrades which are quite inline, but the price of the DRZ-400 in the first place.

I feel that if these "Off brand" companies want to compete the will have to up the quality quite abit and still kept the prices in check. People may buy them on price point alone, but the natural progression always seems to be toward higher quality.

That is one aspect of building "Brand" loyalty. Give people a quality product at a reasonable price,so they will have a quality experence and they will continue to buy from you and recomend your product to others.
Some of the bikes/quads I've looked at appear to have cheap materials (ie: the plastics/grafics). That begs one two wonder about the hard parts of the bikes.

I only have one comment. "You get what you pay for" I've seen these bikes and the quality is very low. Sure its cheap, because it's cheaply made.

Never forget the age old saying...... "You get what you pay for" 98% of the time it's spot on.
