Default Apparently today was not the day to ride......

Well, we finally had good weather today, so I decided to suit up and go for a nice twisty ride. All is going good for about the first 20-30 miles. I come around a right hander with a 45mph posted sign, doing around 60 or so, and what do I see once I get around the fuckin corner??? A BIG ASS Caltrans snow plow STOPPED in the middle of my friggin lane. The weird thing is, it doesn't even snow here??? So I grab a handful of front brakes, and it's not enough to stop behind the damn thing, so i start stepping on the back brake, and it's still not gonna be enough. There is a semi truck with two trailers coming in the opposite direction so I knew that I wouldn't have time to get around the snow plow. So..........I shoot across both lanes into a little dirt turnout thing and go sliding into a 2 foot ditch. The bike never hit the ground or anything, but son of a bitch!!!! What the fuck was that guy just sitting in the middle of the road for?? I look back at him, and he's looking at me, and then the mother fucker, knowing that i'm stuck in a ditch, just drives off. So, I get my bike out of the damn ditch and go to the nearest and only store around so I can just sit and have a cigarette. Once done smoking, I decided that I would keep on going instead of going back home. So I'm riding starting to have fun again, and I go around a pretty sharp uphill left. The front tire slides out on me (I guess there was still a little mud on it), and then it grabs real quick, almost throwing me off the bike. I just can't fuckin win today. I wasn't riding hard at all, mostly because I was riding solo today. So I just take it easy and keep riding up to the point that I originally wanted to go. I turned around and rode home.
I get almost to the point where the snow plow was, come around another corner, and there is an F350 parked in the middle of my lane with it's hazards on. I slowed down and started to go around it when I saw a beautiful RC51 smashed to shit in front of the truck. So, I stopped and saw the rider laying on the ground, there were two other people there with him. I ran up and did my medic thing. The guy had a very broken hand, and possibly a fractured or broken femur (thigh bone). Some jack ass turned left in front of him and the guy on the bike slammed into the back end of the car, sending him flying. I waited around for the ambulance to show up and helped the cops pull the mangled bike to the side and then went home.
All this happened within an hour. I was SO happy to finally get back home and park the fuckin bike. I'm gonna call Caltrans tomorrow and file a formal complaint. I tried when I got home, but they were already closed for the day. What a fucked up day.

Thanks, I'm glad to be in one piece too. Yeah, that dudes RC was fucked. He hit the car so hard, his triple tree clamp snapped in half. The shittier part was when the paramedics showed up, they cut his Alpinestar leather pants off of him. The guy looked more upset about that than he did about his bike. His hand was pretty nasty, the bone was damn near protruding through the skin. I'm sure that he'll heal pretty fast, as long as his back didn't get injured, which it didn't seem to be. He was in good spirits considering what happened to him though.

There are some days where you feel that you shouldn't be riding. This was probably one of those days

damn crazy shit. Glad you made it out in once piece. Sounds like it could have been worse for BOTH you and the RC51 rider.

Wow - that sounds like a really crappy day. But fortunately YOU came home in one piece! Hope the RC51 rider's hand heals completely.
