You need to disassemble the kill switch. It's held in place through that.

To get the grips off, shoot compressed air under them. They'll pop right off with no effort at all. To remove the throttle, disassemble the control pod next to it. The screws are underneath. Then remove the cables and it slides right off.

When I changed the grips on my FZR last weekend, I just took the bar ends off and pulled and twisted.
If you're not planning on using your grips again, just take a razor blade and carefully cut them off.
Getting them off is the easy part, actually. Putting them back on is gonna be tough.
Hope I could help.

putting them on is cake, just as Jim Schmidt said shoot compressed air under them and they inflate and slide right on...use a bit of hair spray so they stick

Right. The cheaper the better, in my experience.

I just cut mine with a razor blade and took them off. Putting the new ones on were easy. The glue acts as a lube, so they slip right on. As far as getin em off though, i ran into the same problem. Pullin and twistin like a bitch for 10 mins. Finally i said fuck this and i slit em with a razor blade. Not like il be using them again

I too use a razor blade for removal, but I put them back on with carb cleaner. Works "very" well.
If I'm saving the grips (and I don't know why), I break them loose by sliding a thin screw driver under them to get them loose. Then I've used a big open end wrench that is the exact size as the bar end to pull the grip off. Unless you have air.
Good luck

Heh, I've been using hairspray on my bicycle grips since I was a kid, always works.
