The switch option is the way to go (for me, I think), and I'd like to reinstall the 2 headlight setup with a switch if I do it again. Sometimes, you get stuck in traffic, and there's not much you can do about it. Especially in Boston, where I don't believe it's legal to lane split.

On that note, there is this one spot on my commute where I come around a corner at an intersection, and I'm always in fear of people not seeing me and pulling out in front of me (and then braking and stopping right there in the middle of the road, almost guaranteeing that I go over their hood), so everytime I'm coming up on it I turn on the high beams before I get there and leave them on, to increase my frontal presence a bit. Well, that and slow down.
