Default Shifting trouble woes

Ive recently been having ocasional trouble downshifting into 1st or second.
I replaced the clutch cable yesterday and did an oil change. All other
shifts are normal, and when it does shift its normal feeling. Any thoughts or expirences before i try replacing the clutch? Thanks!!

Could it be the shifter lever itself?

We just took it apart and lubed it, there was alot of rusty dust in there.
It seemed as thou it wasnt functioning correctly as it now is more springy.
God how I love working with a master tech, our fingers are crossed. I will update monday for those intrested.
Thanks for the thought!

The exact same thing happened to another of our FZ6 owners, but he jumped the gun and replaced the whole lump from a salvage yard...only to find out later that it was indeed just the outer seal and bushing on the shifter lever almost rusted in place with gunk and stuff!.....Pretty sure he was from UK...where the weather is always damp and rainy...that would add to the problem...thank god for WD40.....

Mine did exactly the same thing and was just in need of a little dab of grease to get it slick again. Kind of funny because mine is garage kept and only had about 6k miles on it. I don't even pressure wash it and have not ridden it in the rain. Perhaps it just never was lubed when it was assembled.

Yeah it was that bushing, it was all rusty & dusty. I wash it alot so im not suprised.
So let it be known. That bushing needs to be lubed up every so often.
Thanks!!
