Default Instrument cluster start up display/ proceedure

Hey, picked up a '07 a few weeks ago. When i turn the key on, the tack always does its thing, full needle sweep, idiot light come on. The speedo sometimes goes through the whole proceedure, too. But, other times, the LCD screen just turns on, no start up display, no fancyness. Everything still works, it just doesn't go through the routine. Is that normal? Anyone else have it happen? It really isn't easy to duplicate, sometimes it does it, other times it doesn't. The bike has a warranty on it until next month. If this is the start of some electronic glitch or something, i'd like to take it in.

don't have an '07 but it in my opinion the display should go through it's theatrics every time you turn the switch on. My '06 does.

It's probably because you don't have the red button on (the kill switch). I think that it doesn't do the full sweep if your kill switch is off. I may be wrong. try that

Same with me. With the kill switch off (so the bike doesn't start), the instruments still do their thing, but the fuel pump doesn't prime and the starter button won't work, so i don't think that has anything to do with it.

I'll call the dealer and see what they think about it.
