FZ6If you’re looking for one bike to perform a multitude of missions, look no further.
Take it from Cycle World* Magazine - “For a more advanced rider looking for a bike to do it all, there is no other choice.”
There was a question on another web site that asked the above question. Here was my reply:
Let me modify my reply of Essential. they are only essential if you do ANYTHING with your Hands,... like brush your teeth, drive your car, write, open doors. Put on your own clothes. If you don't do any of these things, you really don't need to use gloves. Seriously, Just this month a group of us were riding Bicycles when one of us went down doing ~20mph. He wasn't wearing gloves. Where do you think I got the above list of life activitiies---from him. And that was on a bicycle at 20MPH.. Of course none of us ever go much faster than 20 mph, not!
Gloves are for panzies who are trying to make it look like what they're doing is brutal and for "men only." You know, the type that wince if they see you pick up a piece of firewood w/o wearing gloves "Ewwwwww! How can'th you thstand that? Doesth't that thurt?"

As the cars roar into Pennsylvania, the cradle of liberty, it seems apparent that our citizens are staying off the streets, which may make scoring particularly difficult, even with this year's rule changes. To recap those revisions: women are still worth 10 points more than men in all age brackets, but teenagers now rack up 40 points, and toddlers under 12 now rate a big 70 points. The big score: anyone, any sex, over 75 years old has been upped to 100 points.
I have a pair of those mechanix gloves for the really hot summer days. honestly i would love to upgrade, but don't think short leather gloves are cool enough (not to mention they are short ie no gauntlet style) I have a pair of alpinestars sp-3 full leather gloves. but on really hot days, i tend not to wear them and just where the mechanics. any recomendations for summer ridding gloves?

I was wearing a pair of mechanix gloves when I crashed last week.
Honestly anything is better than no gloves
I have a pair of A* armored gloves but they're just so uncomfortable and hot.

I've only ever owned a pair of A* gauntlet gloves and won't wear anything except those. I've fallen down rollerblading before and tore my hands up because I didn't wear any gloves. I couldn't imagine going down without gloves on my hands.

You might as well tape Kleenex to your fingers. I wear short leather gloves in the summer, and I'm pretty sure Florida gets hotter than Connecticut. I've never had problems with heat. They do make vented gloves...
