FZ6If you’re looking for one bike to perform a multitude of missions, look no further.
Take it from Cycle World* Magazine - “For a more advanced rider looking for a bike to do it all, there is no other choice.”
OMG! How is the wife taking it? Are you having ANY second thoughts? I just broke my collar bone (clavicle) on my dirt bike last weekend and THAT gave me second thoughts...3 recent crashes that could have ended in serious injury or death and you're not even phased? Is that the european in you?
Did you get to do a track day first?
Sorry for all the questions...I'm really glad you're ok, again. Amazing how lucky you are when it comes to injuries....so many people have lesser crashes and get all messed up.
take care
Thanks Nate.
I know what everybody is thinking right now, i.e. "he is crazy, rides like a dumbass and should stop riding before he kills himself", and I understand completely since I would be thinking the same thing if I was reading about someone posting about his 3rd near catastrophic accidents within a 2 year period...
For some odd reason (I am not sure why, maybe it's my character, or maybe it's the fact that I am used to trips to the hospital -the list is a bit long, so I'll spare you... this is the only time I end up at the hospital due to a motorcycle accident though-), but I was and am completely "unphased" about this accident (and the ones in the past as well).
If I was single, I would leave it at that... however, I am not, and I have a daughter who I love to death (no pun intended).
Because of my wife and daughter, I did have a soul searching momen last night during the few hours I was laying on my hospital bed under the influence of morphine (), and was trying re-evaluate my relationship with motorcycles... I am still not sure what the "right decision" is... give it up all together and give up that part of my life, which I believe helps keep me balanced and mentaly healthy? or learn from what happened and keep going with a new bike?
Life is short, I could die tomorrow while crossing the street... I could get cancer (both my grand-dads died of cancer quite young)... if my time's up, my time's up, with or without motorcycles... but then again, I want my daughter to have a daddy for a long time, so should I minimize the risks and quit? will I end up a 45 yo frustrated a-hole because I tried to change who I am? I don`t want that either. There are obviously a lot of parameters that come into play, and for some reason I feel I won`t die on a motorcycle... I don`t know why, but I feel like when I die, it'll be from something else.
Anyway, I'll stop blabling... to answer your question: the wife was freaked out last night until I got home walking and smiling... with my right arm in a sling (sp?) and not a scratch on my body... she says "you and I both are DONE with motorcycles", but I am negotiating right now to get a wkd ride, at least.... we`ll see.
Track day was scheduled with John for August or September... not done yet... even though I am not sure it would have helped tremendously in that particular instance.
I believe the only thing I could have done is bet on the safe side and keep braking after seeing her pull out of that parking lot aggressively... I did not after (albeit wrongly) assuming she had seen me. Shit happens... that's all I can say.
That's what you get for saying Laura's RS is ugly.
nice... I should have seen that one coming lol

First time I get "hit"... the last two times were completely my fault, for lack of skills and lack of attention (respectively).

Man glad you are ok. Hate it about the bike. I know what you say about riding being the thing that keeps you mentally healthy. You are correct, you could get hit crossing the street or drop dead from a heart attack. Life is always going to have risks; how much to tolerate is the question and only you can determine that. Hope you keep riding though.
I got my tickets today too, but since I didn't really win I didn't get the dinner tickets. Since your winning bike no longer exists I think you should forfeit them over to me!
I figure, I`ll reach my quota at some point.......
Seriously sorry to hear about your accident and the bike
about the only thing I think you could have done differently was assume she's tryin kill you and kept braking

some people have feelings that get hurt easily. I simply say it may be a case of sandivaginitis.....go to the doctor. It sounds like sound paper when you walk.
People really need to take driving a 4,000 pound hunk of metal more seriously.

Apologies for the long ass response...
Was just wondering if you had the CHANCE to take a FZ6 to the track...I was looking forward to hearing your reactions and seeing pictures etc.....I also doubt a lot of TDs would have helped you here except MAYBE for braking (never crossed my mind until you mentioned it).
Uh....wow. You were very lucky (again). Although I wasn't there for this accident it did happen in Buena Park! I'm happy to read that you are physically fit after this latest event.
I'll give you a call later this afternoon.

Sorry to hear about the wreck. I very glad you are ok! Three wrecks in what a year? That would scare the hell outa me! Being on this board you start to feel like you know people and you worry about them! Please everybody be safe!
sorry to hear about another crash dave. maye it's time to just get another bike and do track days only. no more blind asian ladies, near cliff misses, or anything else.
with the money you've spent on the last 3 versions I'm sure a couple trackdays a season won't phase you.
