Default My FZ6 with Buell Headlight (finally)

So after my little get-off I decided to go naked. I picked up a Buell headlight and mini fairing from Julius. I didn't spend a whole lot of time trying to fab everything perfectly because I just don't have the money or the tools to do that. However, even without much effort, it came out pretty good. One thing, if you decide to do this mod, be careful buying headlight brackets. The clamps that came with my brackets are cheap looking. They are plastic!! They look like they will hold up but they are definitely more for function rather than form. I had previously found some better brackets that looked identical to my setup but with aluminum fork clamps rather than plastic. The price was the same for that setup but somehow I ended up ordering the crappy plastic. Oh well. It looks ok from over two feet away. See attached pics. More to follow...

And a few more...

Oh yeah. I still haven't fixed that dented tank. I have a new Silver tank but I need to get it painted.

Looks great! It also gives me a good idea about what it's going to look like with the 07 top triple and LSL bars...

And one more member!

Thanks WaveX. Not as cool as the headlight setup you have but it does look pretty good. The only thing I'd like to do now, apart from getting the new tank on there, is to swap my handlebar clamp for the old style so that a little more of the handlebar is exposed. Other than that, I'm loving the new look!!

Well right now I have no headlight setup, so I much prefer yours!

Let me correct: "The only thing I'd like to do now, apart from getting the new tank on there & paint my rad covers black, is to swap my handlebar clamp for the old style so that a little more of the handlebar is exposed."

btw, I had to go back to the pics to see that your tank is damaged I am considering keeping mine damaged, to make it obvious that I not only work on my bike, I also ride it... and for a streetfighter look, it may work, we`ll see. I think it looks badass on your bike too as is

How do you like riding naked?

STOP POSTING PICS OF NAKED FZ's....You are making me regret ordering my Puig screen.

With that said, where is a good place to buy the Buel frontend?

Naked is good. I've done it before on some of my other bikes. I do miss the wind protection of the double bubble wind screen but I'm not complaining. All I care about is having a bike to ride. I don't know what I would do without a bike.

So yeah...I never thought about the radiator covers going black. Damn you WaveX!!! Now that is just one more thing to do.

I got mine from my local Harley/Buell dealer.

I bought my Buell headlight and bracket from a guy on here. The truth is, I could have got a new one for about the same price, around $150 for the headlight and the bracket and windscreen. Just go to a Buell dealership and ask for the headlight, bracket, and windscreen for an sb9sx. I had the part numbers but after I bought my setup I deleted the file.

A nice suture design on the dent perhaps?

Cool, I just thought there might be somewhere cheaper than a HD dealer...But I just thought of a different headlight and suprisingly it is cheap(realitivly speaking) and looks different.

Oh and good looking bike, the tank/frame of the FZ6 is not meant to be hidden!
