Default to leave the radiator guards on or not. pic

I have a 08 Black FZ and the silver guards on the radiator stick out pretty good. I took them off today because it was raining. I need to get them powder coated but they look pretty good off. Why would they make them Silver anyway?.

Do these truly offer that much protection? What is the potential harm for leaving them off? I agree they kind of stick out with the all black and it looks a little cleaner with them off. I say leave em off.

I rode with mine off for a couple weeks. So I know what your saying.

They can be rattle canned black in an afternoon.

I have mine back on now. Here's a thought. Picture your bike without the center stand
It looks much sportier.

When I need to service the bike, I just bolt the stand back on.

painting the radiator covers and exhaust heat shield with flat black should take about 10 minutes, go for it

first thing I took off were these radiator guards.
I prefer the slecker look of radiator+less weight...even I didn´t put the screws on.
Now I´m looking for alumiun grille to change radiator front plastic grille.......

Have you noticed faster acceleration or a higher top end now that you've elliminated all that excess weight on the bike?

Painting the exhaust heat shield took about 90 min. I removed the tail pipe and seperated the heat shield for painting. Let dry and reassembled.

After market exhaust are pricy for very little gain... other than looks/sound.
still gonna see if I can find some R1 cans local. Until then
