Any pipe with a Y will have more exhaust going to one side or the other. Hell... my dual exhaust car does the same thing at low rpm. Scavenging and dP dictate where the exhaust will go. Now the 90 degree bend isn't the slickest design, but it will do the job. At higher rpms, the pressure through one muffler will get high enough to make the path through the other muffler a lower dP option. That's when both will be used at roughly equal flows. Fun with fluids...

There's a better picture if you search for it but here you get teh idea...the shape of the Y helps to even the output by the geometry...at least an ATTEMPT to have equal static pressure in teh muffler.
It's not a big deal...but its still a hack job. I used to see it all the time when I dealt with ducts and lazy, imcompetent, and inconsiderate contractors. When one room gets too much air and another not enough...it becomes a bigger deal i guess.
sounds like a wounded lion...lol
i can see me gettin pulled over soon from the noise. gutted the cat and air box mod with k&n. throttle response has improved.

They're loud aren't they!? I finished mounting mine as well but had no place for the bracket.

I get home around 8 PM so the lighting is not ideal, but I'll see what I can come up with! I rode the bike this morning and loved it. The deeper growl was awesome.
On another note I am using the FE Kit for my bike and the hanging bracket M4 sends did not seem to attach anywhere on my FZ6. I also had to press to the left with the Y-Pipe to the left to align it better. Anyhow I do not think they sent the right mounting bracket.

I have not heard back from neidermeyer regarding the mounting parts (specifically the bracket) did not seem to attach to anywhere on my bike. I'm sure I followed the directions correctly; they were not very clear.
M4 is going to call me back with a solution to the mounting bracket issue. While my pipes are on and seem secure. I'd like to know that all the parts fit properly including the lame bracket.
Please let me know if you run in to any installation problems. I love the sound and quality of the pipes; they are deep, loud and look awesome. It's just that not all parts fit properly. I'll take photos, video and sound clips later on.
Cheers

took the bike to work today just got home. my bracket mounted easily to the bike but afterwards i couldnt get the tail section back on until i swapped out the m4 supplied nut and bolt for a smaller 1 and different washers and also had to remove the 2 screws the holds the black plastic to the painted part but there are alot of clips that will still hold it in place. the stainless bracket that holds the stock muffler is the mounting location. you use the stock allen screws and place a m4 supplied nut to the rear of those. then the metal bands wrap around the muffler and clamp onto the supplied bracket but in my case, im unsure if this is 07 exlusive but i doubt it, i couldnt use the supplied nut and bolt so therefore the reason for the smaller screws. they are actually stainless liscense plate screws from wallyworld that i had lying around..for the supplied straps i just got the positioned and put a visegrip to hold it in place so i could get the bolts in the hole after much frustration and my dad watchin over me makin me nervous(retired auto mechanic of 50 years)

I just noticed the bolts or screws holding that hand rail is missing on my bike...hope it's not critical when I swap the exhaust.
Regarding that retainer band or whatever its called (the shiney clip holder thing in the picture above)...I already have some painters masking tape. Until I think of something better I plan to just put tape over the shiny part and tape on the black part (to mask it)...pain the tape that covers the shiny part and remove the tape on the black part that I used for masking (covering).
I'd rather have painted tape than shiny, and electrical tape won't be flat enough for me.
