FZ6If you’re looking for one bike to perform a multitude of missions, look no further.
Take it from Cycle World* Magazine - “For a more advanced rider looking for a bike to do it all, there is no other choice.”
Looks good. I have the same headlight in black just not installed yet. I've taken the front end off 3 times and zip tied the headlight to the front of the bike to see what it might look like. Each time I like it more and more but I have no idea what to do about the wiring and the gauge. I've read many posts on the topic and I saw the post you referred to by "avogt18" but the headlight I have has 4 lights total, not two like the back of the headlight pictured. Basically, I'm scared that I am going to screw it up. Any advice on wiring the 4 lights and blinkers would be appreciated. Then there's the guage. Damn, I want to go nekked but I'm skeert. Let me go put the old front cowl back on.
I have the same headlight that you have. I wired the 2 lights on the inside as my running lamps and the two outside as my high-beams. Works great. Allthough most of my riding is in the city or subbys, the light isn't all that bad. It IS bad when you're riding with a tinted windscreen on your helmet!
Mounting the headlight isn't hard. I flipped the brackets and changed sides as well as cut the crap out of them to get the headlight closer to the forks. I didn't like it sticking out so far. As a result i had to mount the speedo to the handlebar using universal bar clamps. I bought some flush mount blinkers and installed them to cover the holes and area left behind on the frame where the fairings mount.
Wiring it seemed like a PITA, but as it progressed, it went pretty smooth. I unwrapped the front harness and managed to get a good portion of it stuffed by the battery instead of cramping up the space behind the headlight. In retrospect i could have done better had i used the hole in the frame on the right side too.
Do it! At first i was undecided on sheer neekidness. It grew on me FAST! Now I don't even think about changing it back. If I'm gonna road trip this year, I'm gonna have to buy another bike (with fairings) to deal with the wind. Riding around town is alot more enjoyable now. You feel alot more "free" i guess would be the term to use.
Any chance you'd be making more than one? Assuming you've got no steering lock restrictions, I'd be very interested in having that bar for myself.
I don't know if they'll pass tech inspectin for track day, but yes i can make all the bars that people want. i want wavex to try them to see if he likes them and then post his input on them, then anyone wanting them can make a decision then. i made them so that there is no contact with the tank, it's close, but no contact!

w00t! well I`ll be travelling to Europe all next week, so both wkds coming up are dead for me... but I`ll be so eager to ride when I come back that I'll be riding on 4-26 (Saturday) for sure... how about your book that Saturday and we`ll get together?

but I`ll be in Paris on Sunday... for 3 days with my cousin then the South of France (meeting, 2 days), and then the North East with my family for 2 days so I`ll be fine
Alright I really love that headlight but I think they are only 25w bulbs or something like that. How bad is the visability at night? I do a lot of night riding, and I dont think this would go over too well.
