I agree 100%. Most frames out there are ugly (exception made of some more expensive brands), as they are usually basic flat shapes, with weld points showing all over the place... the Fizzer definitely looks awesome without any fairing, which cannot be said of most other bikes coming from Japan.

On a different topic, I took my centerstand off and still get a clunk sound when going over bumps... the sound seems to be coming from the rear shock, or somewhere around there, below my ass. I checked my underseat compartment to make sure nothing was loose in there, and still get the clunk... Am I the only one getting that sound? is it just the normal sound the rear shock makes when going over bumps?

I doubt it's the shock. It's more likely to be the chain or the rear caliper bracket....or your exhaust or just some other piece that is loose...you should be able to identify what is making the noise by poking around. The shock won't make noise unless you bottom out...what setting is your shock on?

The VIN is stamped on the frame....is there anything else on there that you would need? I took mine off with relative ease.

Thanks bro... I`ll poke around and check the chain and rear caliper bracket tonight... I know it`s not the exhaust since I re-built it recently, and double checked everything (was getting the sound before already).

My shock is set to 5 right now, but I need to crank it up to 6 or 7... maybe that`ll make a difference... it`s not making a sound when the shock compresses, but mainly when it "de-compresses", after the bump... I can hear it clearly everynight when I get home from work and go up my driveway, and can`t stand it anymore

Thank you. It's a pleasure to be here. Do I get a free t-shirt or anything, or maybe just some good ol frosh hazing? First little ride around the block tonight and it was really cool. Not temperature cool, just cool. The only problem is that now when I walk out to the garage I fixate on the looks of the front of the bike instead of just taking it all in. I'm sure it will go away in a few days. Anyway, thanks to all of you for all of the advice. Nekkid baby! Yippee!

Thanks. I haven't had a chance to ride at night yet. Maybe tomorrow night, I'll let you know.

One more mod to hopefully accentuate the nakedness. With the front off I didn't really like the squared edges of the silver radiator covers so I painted them black. Then I didn't really like it for some reason so I place a strip of aluminum behind the newly blackened cover and I love it. Let me know what you guys think.

New suspension and brakes FTMFW!

Notice the 2007 swingarm on the 2004 FZ6

EDIT - I think my black wheels look better.

Last bits painted, radiator panels cut down to reduce interference with my knees, and a couple hours running around the city yesterday. Schweet!

That looks cool! So your conversion went down smoothly right? no electrical problems (like you had mentioned to me)?

+1 on the black wheels...

What's up with the HD headlight? when are we gonna see it mounted on your machine?

defy, cant wait to see the bike once it gets a face too. looks awesome, love teh swingarm (been wanting to swap mine) and i want the ohlins too. btw, since you have clips, theres a guy on fz6-forum, who's organizing a group buy on some custom triple trees (no more bar mounts sticking up). just thought you might be interested.
