So i'm new to street bikes, did the dirt bike thing before. I picked myself up a used fz6 which I found for a great deal. I really like the looks of naked bikes though, which the fz appealed to me because it's mostly naked. I've put about 1500 miles on the bike in the last couple months and really enjoy riding it, but have that nagging desire to delete the upper fairing/cowling and put just a single or dual headlight on it. Just had question though...

How much does getting rid of a windshield effect control/comfortability while driving at speed? I've had my bike up to 110 so far (on a controlled strip of road of course, lol), and thinking that's the fastest I'll ever care to go. If I change over to naked will those days be over? Can you stay in control ok with all the wind? Just curious how much different it feels... that's the last thing holding me back. Thanks.

I've had mine up to 125 before. No problems. Just tuck down the same as you would with a fairing. No big deal really.

hi all, i want to do a streetfighter too. how do you guys mount your stock speedo for the fazer s2? i'm thinking i should cut the stock fairing stay then wield it back together so it's shorter. what do u think? i can also use this modded fairing stay to mount headlights.

I wanted to cut and re-weld my fairing stay but didn't have the tools. Seems like this would be a really clean option. Mine is currently mounted using hot water radiator straps and a little backwoods engineering.
