The Camera is a Canon A570IS. Its nothing special but it does take nice pictures.

The land around Peggy's Cove is fairly unique.


The memorial to Swiss Air Flight 111. It crashed just off the coast here killing 229 people.

Ferry ride #8. Catamaran ride on "The Cat" from Yarmouth Nova Scotia to Portland Maine. About a 6 hour ferry ride. This thing really hauls!



US customs crossing into Portland Maine. They seemed more interested in my GPS then anything else.


Whoops! It was bound to happen sooner or later. And I didn't feel bad as I have never dropped a bike before. At least I wasn't sitting on it at the time. Although if I had been I wouldn't have dropped it.


The bike escaped with just a VERY slight scuff to the frame slider and one little corner on the luggage.

Several big storms later and a stay at some relatives. Welcome to Chicago!
Chicago has some bad roads. Not as bad as Montreal but what makes it worse is in Chicago you must pay a toll to ride on the crappy roads. I couldn't believe how bad some of the roads were. And it bugged me that I was paying extra to ride on them.

Welcome to Iowa. Land of Corn (for ethanol) and Soy Beans.

This was new to me. The mid grade gas is cheaper then the lower octane gas. Its because the mid range has ethanol in it. My bike doesn't like ethanol as I found out later.

Outside the Mitchell Corn Palace I spotted these bikes in the parking lot. I thought they looked familiar so I snapped a picture.


BEHOLD! THE CORN PALACE!

Seriously.... don't waste your time here. I walked in the front door and turned around and walked out. I hear others have not been so lucky.

This thing is in an open field next to the highway.


The Devils Tower National Monument. It was a long detour to get here and it was very cold and wet. I had to wait a fair amount of time for the clouds to clear just to get this picture. There are a lot of wild turkeys in the area here. I just about hit a few.

Mt Rushmore! It sure looks smaller then I imagined.


It is free to enter Mt. Rushmore. But you must pay for parking.

It has all been done with private funding. Thus its slow going.






Welcome to Wyoming.... Again. I actually crossed into Wyoming already to get to The Devils Tower. But it was raining heavily at the time so I didn't get a picture the first time.

Meeting up with Mark from this forum. Just a freak chance meeting in the middle of nowhere. And it turns out it was their bikes I spotted at the corn palace. They were lucky enough to get the full tour inside the palace.


My tent is dwarfed by the size of these monsters!

Open range in Colorado. You always have to keep an eye open for cattle on the road.


This stretch of highway just amazed me. It runs though the bottom of the canyon. One lane sits over top of the other for a large part of it. It has an amazing view and must have been a big job to build.


We arrived at Arches National Park in Utah late at night. It was pitch black as we pulled in and like many camp sites it said it was full. We however found a spot any ways and paid in the morning. Even in the darkness you could see the scenery was spectacular. Here is a night shot of the bikes from my tent.
