Thanks for all the input guys, especially Gundog and Madcow. Like I said the driving unsafe for the conditions I'm pretty sure I can get dropped.. and I know I wasn't going 92.. no way I was even close. Sure I was probably speeding, I never look at my speedo really.. I can only go as fast as the guy in front of me. I'll probably shoot for paying the minimum 10mph over ($162) and take Def driving online($30).. but I maybe after a TBD like Madcow suggested.

Mostly I just wanted to get everyones views on this.. seems most people agree the safest way to ride is to control the flow of things.

Only way I'm a danger to them is if they're hauling ass.. then they're a danger to me not vise versa hah.

Only times I look behind me is to change lanes, at a yield signs, or merging when I can actually see. I have very broad shoulders.. in fact the stock mirrors where pretty much useless. I put the A1A mirrors on so I can see very well in the rear blind spots (left and right of my rear tire).. but still can't see directly behind me for shit.. there is no way to do it safely on a interstate really w/o a rear camera or something. Alot can happen in the 2 seconds it'd take to glance back there while doing 70mph.

I dunno it's just annoying to have to deal with this BS. Think there should be specific laws to govern motorcycles on the road.. some shit just dont' fly when compared to car or truck.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to agree with derf on this one. I don't know how the on-ramp is there, but I usually can look to my left and see if there is a gap to merge... and the on-ramp/merge lane is usually long enough to do this also. Additionally although I can't turn and look behind me I can still turn enough to look where my blind spot would be.

With that said, yes he might have been an ass and put down a higher speed... I don't agree with that at all.

This particular cop is a regular asswipe!....With the amount of traffic you were in, he was stupid [as most cops are]..to even think about pulling you over...that in itself will cause the rubber neckers crash into each other..We all know what we have to do to merge with the cagers out there..and we all develop our own practices to stay alive...I'm suprised he didn't Taser you 32 times like that other prick cop did to that woman in Ohio and she was in handcuffs and commited no effing crime even!..and look at the stupid bastards down at the gap in Tennessee... Damn I wish you didn't get me started!.....WTF!

One other general point, the less talking you do with the cop the better because the longer you converse, the more you give him to remember you by, and the more likely you are to making a statement which can be used against you.

When you go to court, you want to limit his memory to what's in his notes on the ticket as much as possible, and not making statement's adverse to your own interests is just a common sense thing to minimize damage(s) (costs).

If the cop is not an idiot, you can usually reason with him and explain whatever you want to explain. It worked for me once.

But this is not very likely to happen so its better to keep the explanation at minimum and see him on court.

Good luck bro

I think it's because the 'smart' ones usually move up, like making detective etc.
