Puig race screen PWNS the yamaha screen.
SRSLY.
Yamaha should be ashamed.
I put a PUIG Race screen on my FZ6 and I am AMAZED at how much more wind protection it gives you.
Yammi should be using this design from the factory.
All of that buffetting, turbulent air on your helmet....GONE.
It puts your head in a calm zone of non moving air that lasts up until you hit about 110mph. Literally...its just amazing what a difference it makes.
Plus, I would say that there is simply no reason for PUIG to make a "touring" version. The race version is MORE than enough wind protection even for touring, plus I think it looks cool.
A++ on this product...its a must for anyone who does a lot of highway riding.

True... No more 15 rounds with a middle weight giving
you head shots.
No more helmet lift. I like my helmet on tight... But If the ride was
gonna see triple digits... I'd have to crank it down and almost cut off
blood flow... Or keep the chin on the tank when ever you saw +80mph.
Now... My head is in the "zone" and I feel steady pressure on the arms
and shoulders.
That dark smoke looks sweet on a red and black bike
Awsome MOD.

Yeah, I figured it would be a little better...but the drastic improvement really surprised me.
Install was pretty easy too...except its super easy to push the rubber grommets out when you are installing the new shield...which will force you to remove the fairing inner plastics to put the grommet back in properly. Ask me how I know...

Ok...pics are here.
Bear with me, my camera phone is fairly crappy (but it was free).
Here is a shot with the stock windscreen on, note the shiny headers...this was right when I picked up the bike:
Here is a shot of the PUIG race screen (dark smoke color). You can see through the windscreen still, but just barely. I don't mind though, even in a full tuck I am still peeking over the top of it.
Angle view:
Rear view:
Its easy to see that the new screen is at least 3" higher than the original stock screen...but I think both the height and the shape (its much less flat) play a part in how well it works.
The touring screen is even taller...and I think this one is right on the edge of being too tall (from an aesthetic point of view), but I don't mind because it works so damn well.

Hmmmm, I bet the fitment on that is better than the 04-06's just by the very design of the screen. I love the look and wind protection of the puig double bubble for the '06, but the fit and finish is pathetic compared to the yamaha piece.
