FZ6If you’re looking for one bike to perform a multitude of missions, look no further.
Take it from Cycle World* Magazine - “For a more advanced rider looking for a bike to do it all, there is no other choice.”
Monitoring how our babies are being treated at the dealer's service departments and/or repair shops. Post their screw-ups here, print it up when you have your bike repaired by any of the shops listed so you have a heads up from their service department that they are being monitored.
I believe the mechanics/technicians can be capable of doing a better job, but become careless and take short cuts to get the job done quicker.
1) Cycles 128 in Beverly, Massachusetts:
Stripped Axle threads on a 2004 Yamaha FZ6, scratched swingarm, scratched front rims, over-tightened chain doing a tire change. No apology from service, but contested that the marks were already there according to the mechanic who stripped the axle in the first place using improper tools. An adjustable wrench and an air tool was being used to remove the axle while I was observing. It took 5 days to get the bike back.

Horrible liars, arrogant rednecks, they spend most of their days lying to people on messageboards about how they love the biking world and wouldn't do anyone wrong.
Beach Yamaha in Huntington Beach, CA
They're goofy, and I don't think I have my original chain back. My chain never had 'catch' points when rolling on idle (on the center stand). My bike has less than 10k miles and rarely been driven hard, and has the original 530 chain.

The first and ONLY time I let a shop touch my bike. Took it in for the 600 mile service. Picked it up later in the day. On the ride home the front caliper bolts came out. Such a nice feeling hitting the off ramp at 70 with no front brakes. Called them from the side of the road. If you bring it in we'll take care of it. WTF! Luckily Icon Powersports was two blocks away. New bolts and new calipers and I was home that evening!

As a dealership, these guys are a rip off. My friend worked there for a whole summer, and then when he tried to buy a new R6 they wouldn't even give him a discount off of sticker when he knew how much they would make on the sale. He complained and then they fired him.
However, the repair shop is great. They helped me out a ton when I crashed and my loan company was hassling me for repair shop not sending a list of repairs even though the repair shop sent it like 10 times.
Bergen Honda, Lodi, NJ
No experience with the dealership, but the repair shop is phenomenal. These guys remembered me after only bringing in the bike once a year ago. They do a good job, and they'll give you a straight up response if you ask for an estimate. I always end up talking to them for 15-20 minutes about bikes and the track.

REgarding the H0nda dealer, you might not want to mention GOOD dealers on a thread titled, BLACK LIST.

Delt with these guys on 3 occasions. Everytime I was quite happy with their service and quick help.
What happened to you that makes you so angry at them?
Incorrectly adjusted my chain tension after install of sprockets and 520 conversion. Ordered me the wrong sprocket. Didn't pump my rear brake back up after removing caliper, so the first time I tried to use it I had no pedal at all and almost wrecked because having no rear brake all of a sudden freaked me out. I know what a burnout smells like, and they were doing them on my bike before I got it back. They also removed my rear master cylinder reservoir for some reason, and didnt bolt it back.
Millenium Cycle, Beaver Falls PA
Bought my bike there they were pretty cool. Took it in for first service which took two weeks. They let it sit outside for the two weeks, ordered me the wrong k&n filter, and wrong frame sliders, and they charged me for a valve adjustment they didn't actually do. They also didn't latch my seat correctly and put a huge gouge in the bottom of it, now its hard to put on.

Good sales dept. bad service dept. Bought my bike new from them and got it home to find brake light was not hooked up to front brake and I found several loose bolts on the bike including caliper bolts and the nut that holds the handlbars on. I also had this shop do the 2 recalls only to find when i picked up the bike they had not done the main one of concern to me... the TPS.
