You're right Bre, I love the FZ! I only rode the harley because my buddy just got his M1 and wanted to come to Wasaga with me, so I rode my brothers bike while he's away (I'm watching his house, and pool!) and my buddy rode my FZ6.

I'm telling you, those december rides we did on the FZ and the 599 would be impossible on the harley, you'd FREEZE! I got cold in my textile jacket and army pants coming back at 3:00 am! It was really nice seeing the sun come up on the ride home though, very beautiful. I was by myself (buddy stayed up an extra day) and it was very humbling and peaceful to ride into the sunrise on a very calm sunday morning.

Then I had dreams about gremlins biting my feet. Yeah.

Ease off the shrooms dude lololol It' s like that around here for me riding in the canyons , looking at the mountains very very humbling indeed

3. No comment I find I get just as many comments on my Triumph as the harley (the poor ninja isn't a big crowd pleaser). But agree, that isn't the point.

Nice post and glad you gave it a try. Sounds like you reinforced your feelings about your fz6, which is a good thing
1. I'm sure once I got used to the very different power band I'd know what gear I was in and what kinda power to expect. A couple times I was too high in the gears, and I did find out that it has a rev limiter...

2. The worst part about the ergo was the foot pegs. He might have aftermarket controls or something, but it felt like my legs were almost locked straight out. If my feet were resting about 6" back on floorboards the ergo would have been way more comfortable. I never felt relaxed while riding at any speed, while the FZ6 feels almost exactly like a worked in glove. Though I would like some rizoma rearsets to angle my legs back a bit.

3. I get compliments on the FZ6 a lot too, from a wider range of people, but from the young (bikini wearing) crowd at Wasaga Beach, the Street Bob got a different reaction that riding my FZ6 onto the strip in full textile riding gear.

Still it was fun to try, and I'm sure I'll ride it again! I love riding other bikes because I learn what I do and don't like about all of them, and hopefully can use that to my advantage when I go to buy my next bike. At the moment I'm still leaning towards the FJR1300 eventually... But the ducati hypermotard 1100 is looking pretty inviting!!!

That ducati in that pic is the sechs.

Wow...what I wouldn't give for a weekend on that thing in the mountains.

Even if its ugly from the front...that view posted above is just gorgeous.

That bike may have aftermarket pegs. My best friend rides a SB. Her pegs are stock and are not in a forward position like you described.

I have sat on her bike, but not ridden it. She has had the bars tilted down to make it easier to reach. Should be a more comfortable riding position than the one you rode, but I won't ask her to trade bikes.
