FZ6If you’re looking for one bike to perform a multitude of missions, look no further.
Take it from Cycle World* Magazine - “For a more advanced rider looking for a bike to do it all, there is no other choice.”
At 5'-7" with the +8" the wind is hitting the very top of my helmet.
Big improvement but if I had it to do over again I might have started with the +9-1/2".
Taking off the stock screen I was surprised to find plastic screws not very tight at all.
dowop - yeah, I've ended up with cracked shields before. And it was right where the screws were.
So I just screwed the new screen down lightly.
With the rubber backing it felt secure.
How about yours?
And did white lines appear between the top 2 screws along the edge of the fairing?
Looks like the screen flexes enough to rub some of its plastic off.
Might be worse on the +9-1/2" - or not...

I would love to see pics of both your bikes. I've seen the pics on CalSci's website but I'm not sure if it is the +8" or +9.5" being shown. I'm on the fence which one to get but I'm leaning towards the +9.5" shield... but I don't want to mess up the sporty look.
To be honest, the initial height of CalSci shields put me off since the Yamaha GYTR tall shield is listed as +2.5". However, the more I ride my bike... the more I realize the CalSci height makes more sense. With only 2 weeks on my new bike, the wind turbulence/buffeting is driving me nuts above 60 mph.
By the way, I'm close to Dowop in my height at 6ft tall. I'm slightly longer in my legs (34" inseam) than torso. The wind is currently hitting on my chest and higher.
did anyone else notice in that thread on the fjrforum that they bought a Penske shock from gpsuspension.com and it lowered the bike?
I know some folks have put on the Ohlins, but they are like $700 and I dont' remember anyone saying it lowered the bike. I wonder if the Penske's are much cheaper?
It appears the shield extends straight back for the +8". Is there any curved lip near the top edge (to help direct air upwards)?
Does the new extension feel too close to your body while in riding position? I'm curious if it feels like you will bang your helmet on it as you lean forward.
