Smaller, lighter, quicker?

I don't think the specs listed here amount to enough change to tip the scale for the average rider. As a matter of fact most Japanese methods of measuring the above specs are always suspect and quite optimistic. When I start riding without fuel, lubricant, battery, or coolant; I will change may mind.

If you only want the 'quick' part, there are a lot of other bikes out there; or mod this one. ( I just lost 20lbs on a diet, what is that worth in ET?)

I think you may have missed a couple of differences that the average rider could apppreciate. The injection mapping and dashboard.
I just finished breaking in a new '07. I was hesitant to purchase the bike because some reviewers were not crazy about throttle response in '04-06.
My bike is perfect. Low and mid level throttle changes are quite acceptable.

As for the dash, I like the digital speedo. (no performance value)

If you are in the process of comparing the available leftover '06's and an '07, check over the very many threads already written on the issue. I would give a bit more credence to the folks that have ridden both. (I have not.)
I found that the benefits of the newer one were greater than the price break I would have received on the '06, that would have been around $500 locally.
That $500 is made up in the year newer resale value when I sell.

good luck,
Mike Cocorochio

HHHMMMMmmmm.....more plastic!....Looks like I will need to lose 13 Lbs to remain competitive...Then I should take off my saddlebags [the ones on the bike!]....Don't need my fix-a-flat...er....tank bag gotta go....then Il'L cut down to maybe just two meals a day..get down to around 140lbs!......The final touch would be a paint job ? Blue or Silver or RED!.......

RED is heavier than Blue or Silver; blue deflects excess weight towards the rear of the vehicle and down, whereas silver deflects excess weight back towards the source, much like a mirror. Conversely, RED absorbs weight at high speeds - basic quantum mechanics, you know.

Whatever you do, don't get the RED - you'll never lose that extra 13lbs.

The comparison forgot to mention that the 07 front fairing looks like crap, it has better brakes, removable passenger pegs, and a better swingarm.

I don't know about that. To each his own and I like the redesigned upper fairing - more fierce looking.

Wouldn't drag factor into the equation as well? I know the 07 probably has a sleeker front end - but does drag only matter at max velocity? Plus there was a .1 increase in compression - does that factor in to the equation at all?

But the comparison was against an 04, not an 06.

They are OBVIOUSLY using that new super light weight, carbon fiber enhanced tail light fluid.

Duh!

sounds good, but we need to be going just a TAD bit faster to feel it, like around .25c. I think I can get there with some nitrous though. lol
