FZ6If you’re looking for one bike to perform a multitude of missions, look no further.
Take it from Cycle World* Magazine - “For a more advanced rider looking for a bike to do it all, there is no other choice.”
Like Dunlop, or any tire manufacturer, is going to sell tires on which "the tread may separate." Sure, they'll blow up if you don't pay too much to your local dealer. I hate dealers.
*EDIT* I'd find another dealer to mount the tires. Anyone that would feed you that line has no scruples, and I'd refuse to deal with them.
+1

Well, this dealer has given me good service in the past, going so far to tell me that the extended warranty that the previous owner had purchased was still in effect and they had transferred it into my name at no cost to me. On a side note, does anyone know what the average cost for a tire change is? The guy is telling me they have to charge me two hours labor to do the work. Does that seem about right?

Depends on the dealer, but I would say one hour at the most is fair. Hell, all they really have to do is take the wheels off and put them back on. An experienced person using a manual changer can swap tires off and on the rim in about 20 minutes and dealers have automatic changers.

Well, Got the tires mounted and balanced today at the stealership. Ended up, after taxes to be $178. No problems with the balancing and the tread didn't disbond on my ride home, good signs. I called another place to ask them for pricing and they said it would be 210 before taxes! At least this place did the change while I waited, adjusted my clutch, cleaned and lubed the chain, and even took the bike out and scrubbed the tires in for me. The guy came back saying the tires were reeeeaaally slick when he first stared off, getting a little sideways coming out of the parking lot. They seemed great to me on the ride home, and a lot more willing to turn in compared to the stockers I had on there. Moral of the story, don't be afraid of internet sourced tires (at least from the site in the link at the start of the thread), and make sure you have a good place that installs them.

Pirelli Diablos at Cycle gear on Saturday May 19th for $159.99/set. Now thats a good deal.
i think i am gonna jump on this...even though i am dead broke. Just contemplating whether i should put them on now and let the battle axes with 800 miles just chill/sell them??
Just an FYI - I went into my local Cyclegear and they let me prepay for those Diablos and put them in back. Saves the hassle of waiting for shipping, etc if anyone's thinking about it. Personally, I've had a very good experience with the local Cyclegear - they also let me order a Shoei at the upcoming weekend 20%off sale price and threw in a second shield as part of a promo they'd been running. Cool deal.
if you are going to the local store, why would you need to ship the tires?
Ah - the local store has limited supply - otherwise its go on the web and have them shipped. Get to the store and get em before Saturday morning and you're set.
