I don't have pics of my first, unfortunately, but it was a beaten up 1977 yamaha XS650S. I loved it, though, and it did run great considering how it looked. Sort of like this just not so nice.

i know this was in 87 and a little different to todays 1100's but how was it starting on that thing... did it kick your ass??? the reason im asking is that my dad is thinking about buying a bike and he is looking at the new v star 1100's and he hasnt ridden in 25 years ill make sure he goes to the msf course but im just thinkin that it is a ton of bike for a basically new rider considering the time passed since he last rode when he was in college... am i right to feel that way??? im just worried that he is gripping too much to start out on and ive tried to coax him into buying a used 600 or 750 cruiser... we went to the dealer and he was like 600 that wont haul my fat butt around and walked over to the 1100's and was like yea this is what i need... i told him a 600 was plenty and he should buy used instead of a new bike... but he usually wont listen to me...???

1980 Kawasaki 440 LTD
Ran ok but didn't like going over 90 km/h
Best memory: driving it for 4 hours in May from toronto to sudbury. It snowed and rained and was about 2C. Now it's funny but it wasn't back then!

2003 Kawi EX250 (baby) Ninja. Notorious for being one, if not the best starter bikes. It was so much fun that I put about 4,000 miles on in 2 months. I wish I kept it! I regret selling selling it but used the $ for a down pymt on the FZ6.
79 Suzuki GS425 was a nice bike always had battery issues but had a kick start so I was never stranded because of it. I later took off the windshield and backrest and then it looked a lot better. I bought it just like the picture even with the matching 3/4 helmet. picture was taken in 86.
