We should be able to take this easily. If you go through and look at the number of threads/posts in the other forums, no other bike specific forum here comes to even half of our thread count, so from that we either have a lot of spammers or we have a heck of alot more people.
I just hope some of those who posted would actually buy one! It would suck to beat out all the others, and then only have two people buy them. I've been thinking about it for a while, and at this price, can't pass it up!

on some things, I would consider myself inept. I would not install this on my own (I don't think). IF I got a power commander, would any stealership install it or where would I go to have it installed? would they also set it up with "the maps". (I don't fully understand what it does either.....)

From what I understand, installation is pretty much plug and play. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong though. As far as tuning, the best thing to do would be to go to a shop with a dyno to have it tuned. It can be kind of expensive though. How far are you from Carlisle? A couple guys told me that they had their bikes tuned at the bike show last year for pretty cheap. The have a mobile dyno that they bring in.

Installation is extremely easy. Take off the seat, unplug the black connect, unplug the white connecter, plug them in to the unit, then plug the unit into the other side of the connection. That's it. Don't forget to put the seat back on.
You can set the map before you put it on the bike, or if you have a laptop you can tinker with it while it's running. I'm using a modified scorpion map, I've leaned it out for cruising RPMs and throttle positions, and it's slightly leaner than normal through the rest of the range (compared to the stock scorpion map). I do plan on getting it dyno tuned eventually, just don't have the spare cash right now.
