FZ6If you’re looking for one bike to perform a multitude of missions, look no further.
Take it from Cycle World* Magazine - “For a more advanced rider looking for a bike to do it all, there is no other choice.”
Ok guys and gals, get out your calendars. I'm looking to schedule a meet like we did in Gettysburg only closer to me this time. I want to rally everyone for the weekend of June 9 and 10th. It's a 2 day ride to tour Bear Mtn., West Point and the Catskills. I plan on lodging over on Saturday night and more riding on Sunday. All are welcome, so don't be bashful if you aren't fortunate enough to be riding an FZ6, that's ok.
Many things will happen over the next 6 months, but I wanted to give everyone fair warning on the date.
The lodging will be inexpensive motels, some may choose to camp. I'm open for suggestions on lodging and restaurants. Some of the other sites to see will be the Reservoirs, New Paltz, and the Poconos are a short hop over the Delaware River.
Meet at 10:30am at the Tower at the WOODBURY COMMONS SHOPPING OUTLET
WHO'S IN?

Thanks, I edited the date. Sorry to see you're going to miss another meet.
One of these days Eric.

Gunny, can you please post a possible route? I'd like to look at the travel time, places to stay, etc.... I'm about 5 - 6 hours away and would like to try and make this meet. Thanx!!!

Anyone going to that? I think I will be as I have family just north of Albany in Saratoga Springs (20 miles south of Lake George, NY where the rally is).

Bear Mtn. is less than 4 hours from Lake Winnipesaukee. I'm not sure what part of NH you are in but there are nice roads all the way down to the Catskills from your state. You can make it down the same morning of the meet and still ride. I'm older than you, so don't use age as an excuse. Do a mapquest down to Bear Mtn. and you'll get an idea of the distance. The travel time on an FZ is alot less than what they'll estimate.
From Bear Mtn. we will head North. I'm sure you can hook up with some other Northerners and ride down with them. I can reach Bear Mtn from my home in about an hour if I'm on the throttle and no traffic. The meeting time will be 10:30am, but we will be sitting around BSing for at least an hour before kickstands up. I think we'll meet in the Woodbury Commons Outlet lot. It's big, convenient, and there will be bathrooms and food.

I'm south of Lake W by about 45 minutes... Google maps says 4:45 for the trip but that's all highway and we wouldn't do that, of course! Any thoughts on what the longest run is between gas stops? Wife would like to come along on her '06 S40 Boulevard but it's good for just under 100 miles between fillups... Wonder if we can find a larger tank?
Thanx! We'd likely come down the day before and come home on Monday... nice leisure 4 day weekend!
