Default Am I going to kill my battery at my ERC class?

I know the electrical system does not put out anything until 5k. Im also going to be running around the parking lot all day and im sure the fan will be on allot. Im definatly going to hook it up to the tender the night before to make sure its fully chargedd.

Im less worried about this but when we are off the bikes should I turn my bike back to on but not started to let the fan run?

lastly can the FZ6 be bump started? I have never tried this on a FI bike.

You'll be fine. I used the FZ6 for demos in the ERC, which meant I got to ride it for a total of about 2 minutes after starting it each time. It never gave me any problems. I wouldn't worry about running the fan after you shut down either. I've never seen a bike overheat during an ERC, except maybe an air-cooled Harley in August.

And if you've still got enough power to run the ECU, fuel pump, and ignition system, you ought to be able to bump start the FZ6. If the battery is completely dead, though, you're outta luck.

A guy at my ERC had a brand new CBR, and his battery died. We just gave him a push, and he was good to go! Turned out that he had his high beams on whenever the bike was running.

Thanks for the heads up on that one! I am scheduled to take the ERC in May and during daylight hours I always ride with my brights on. You just saved me from a potentially similar fate.

Good point about the high beams!

We had a guy with an older Goldwing whose battery died early in an ERC. I guess it was all the damn running lights he had. We helped him push start that beast for about two exercises, then told him to just reschedule.
