Winter Bike Storage and Riding Comprehensive Thread List
Here is a comprehensive list of topics relating to Winter Bike Storage and Riding, for those of you who will be needing it. Feel free to post up any good threads you think I missed. (Sorry I didn't format it into fancy links, I was lazy)
They wire anyway you want, either through the key or like mine to the battery. They are velcro so they can be removed once it warms up. Buddy of mine said it made the grips too bulky, but I think they are smaller than the grips with thick gloves... I wear my normal riding gloves and stay comfy even on 40 degree mornings.
By the way if you havent shopped aerostitch... give their online catalog a look over... some good stuff....

Reason: additional info
Sticky'd the thread again for this winter season. And since I am not in South Florida anymore, it appears I'll be joining the ranks with you guy's this year and winterizing the bike.
I know there were a few more threads out there on heated grips. If someone wants to dig those out for me, I'll be more than happy to add them to the list of threads in the first post.

I know this thread is old, but I fixed some of the links that when dead when the forum format changed from forums.sportbikest.net to www.sportbikes.net
Okay.. I'm new to SBN and have been poking around a bit looking for winterizing guides and there seems to be quite a few different opinions out there. I bought my 07 FZ6 in the fall of 2008 and mistakenly assumed when I went to winterize it the first year that it would be as straightfoward as the 98nighthawk I had done for 10 years prior.... NOT the case.
So the first winter I just did the wash\wax\stabil and pull the battery routine but I DIDN'T do anything to coat the cylinders as I had always done on my nighthawk. The bike started fine this spring (which I assumed it would) I just want to make sure that I'm not doing any long term damage by not coating the cylinders. I've read that you can just slide the radiator forward a little bit and access the plugs that way and I tried that this fall without much luck.... seems to me that the radiator would need to be removed completely or my hands are too big to get in there.
Has anyone fogged the cylinders through the air box... ??
Would this require new plugs to be installed in the spring?
As of right now I gave my FZ the same treatment I did last fall and it is sitting in storage...but this coating the cylinders thing is still in the back of my mind.
