Lightbulb LASER Sport Collector (Cat eliminator)

Greetings FZ6 Fans,

We have completed the R&D of the LASER Sports Collector and it will be in production shortly. It will mate perfectly to the LASER X-Treme Quad and the LASER X-Treme Dual systems.

Of course it has been designed to enhance the power output and it is made of lightweight INOX Stainless. Our R&D department has indicated that the stock cat creates a lot of back pressure and thus loss of HP and a hotter running engine. It seems that the testing revealed an excellent EMS system and the use of a PC is not indicated.

It will also fit bikes with "Other" aftermarket pipes as long as the "Other" sysem utilizes the stock up pipe.

The retail cost is $142.56.

The board discounted price is $126.96

Previous purchasers of a LASER system for the FZ 6 >LASER X-Treme Quad or LASER X-Treme Special get this item @$95.06.

Future purchasers of this Sports Collector combined with the LASER X-Treme Quad or Special will get a "PACKAGE PRICE".

This is a limited production item, as you know all YAMAHA dealers are lucky to get one FZ 6. Additionally, some countries require the use of the Cat to pass inspection. LASER sells worldwide.

We will make one run of the LASER Sports collector shortly.

Place your order ASAP to ensure availability and so that we can get a scope of how many we need to make.

Thank you for your suport!

If the cat creates a "lot of back pressure" how come the arrow dyno chart shows at best a minimal improvement in BHP over the stock one?

i dont thinkthat the cat creates any major amount of back pressure. it probably flows more air than an automotive cat does heres a pic i just took of mine since i made my own eliminator pipe about a month ago.

if ya are wondering what kind of difference it made? it did make a little difference on throttle responce. It made an awsome improvement with the sound issue. If ya wanna change the sound of the fz6 dont drill holes in the exhaust, just eliminate the cat pipe.

The Arrow cat eliminator has been available from giomoto.com for some time, I ordered it with my exhaust months ago. The part number should be 71272MI. Hope this helps.

I emailed Arrow about their version and the response claimed it would only work with Arrow exhasut from there back. Anyone tried it with stock or other aftermarket product. NO, NO, I don't have my scorpions yet ....

Thats interesting because the instructions give it as an option, meaning using their exhaust with the stock cat convertor. Did you speak with Arrow, Giomoto or a dealer?

I'd like to see some numbers if anyone has any. Especially from Laser if their R&D put the eliminator to the test. Excuse my ignorance at the moment but isn't the CAT really just for emissions? Eliminating it will gain sound and HP?

It is for emmisions, however there must be a reason for most manufacturers to produce a pipe to eliminate it. Weight is a factor as well, the eliminator pipe weighs half of the cat pipe.

Thanks for the graph. All in all it looks like a 5.3 hp gain with Arrow and no CAT. This has to be my next mod......just gotta sell the house & the kids....

How much worse are emissions if you have a cat eliminator on?

I can confirm that the Arrow cat eliminator does fit the stock system and also the Akrapovic system perfectly. As for the weight issue, no big deal there; stock cat pipe =1.2kg, Arrow cat eliminator=0.6kg.
I umm'd and err'd about getting the Arrow cat eliminator, very unsure whether it was a waste of money or not, especially as the power comparison graph showed only a slight increase over the cat. And i'm also no expert on back pressure issues. But I'm happy I took the plunge. There was a great improvement in the feel of the bike after fitting the cat-free pipe. Definitely an improved throttle response. So glad I went for it.

Wow, what an old thread.

The Arrow Cat Eliminator will work with any exhaust. It is also lighter, and the stock cat is restrictive. It is also the best eliminator out there, that I have seen so far.
